Well, it's January second already. We didn't have church this morning because they couldn't get the heat to work at the funeral home where we meet. We meet there because we sold our church building this past fall and we can meet at the funeral home for 500.00 a year. We are a small congregation so this place is perfect for us. I haven't walked the dogs for two days because of the cold and because the roads are unusually narrow right now because of the snow and there isn't anyplace to get off the road if a car comes by. It's cold today. The breeze isn't strong, but it's really cold. I don't know why I live in a place that is cold in the winter, hot in the summer, dry; economically depressed. I crave warmth, lush greenery--water. Actually, I do know why I live here: I live here because this is where my mother lives, because I've lived in Idaho my whole life (With the exception of a few months that I lived in Spokane Washington). I live here because whatever life I thought I was going to have, or hoped that I would have is never going to be and this is as good a place to wait to die as any. It was a good day today! I went for a run, walked both of the dogs, washed three loads of clothes, ran the dishwasher, shelved some books, worked on a piece I'm writing, and helped with dinner.
