To ssunlimited, re: I am better than everyone else.
Such a claim comes across as incredibly arrogant, all the more if the evidence points to its untruth. I do not question your intellectual intelligence. I do, however, question your emotional intelligence. Of your own admission, you have anger issues - and from what I have seen on here, they are not at all under control. People who are kind and empathic do not deliver low blow to others by attacking them the way you have, targeting what you think are their most vulnerable spots. Acting in the way you have is cruel, nasty, irrespectful and insensitive. The exact opposite of what you claim to be. People who are mature do not get hot-headed in arguments; they do not make constant low-blow attack… [more]

Today EP told me that "25989 people have read your stories". Blimey. That's the population of a small town. And I am thinking, what I am posting about? Do I inspire people? Make their day better? Challenge them? Share good things with them? Or do I just whine about myself? I want to think about how I use EP. I would like to bring something good to the EP community, not just use it as a ranting tool.… [more]

  • I need some time off

    Posted on: May 30th, 2012 at 8:48AM

I am so busy between work and meeting up with friends (which in itself is a good thing, mind you) that I have no time to stop, ponder and reflect. I need time off so I can think deeply about what I really want to do with my life and my abilities. I know I have a talent for writing, but I don't have much time to practise it... lately, having been off work has allowed me to do more work on a story I started writing in 2009 (!), and also do some research and reflection (in writing) about my faith and a new type of religion I have recently encountered. But see, this is exactly what I need - time to think, explore, investigate, ponder, reflect, write - and practise my talents. I guess it's a luxu… [more]

  • Why my new job isn't so bad, really.

    Posted on: December 27th, 2012 at 12:57PM

So yeah, I have 2 university degrees and I'm a supermarket employee. But here are reasons why it isn't so bad. 1. It's work. It's better than no work, trust me. And it's full-time so I can save up for the next steps. 2. The people are much more friendly than in the previous supermarket I used to work at - more down-to-earth and they don't take themselves all that seriously. 3. The radio actually plays decent music most of the time. *sings along to Coldplay, Hard-Fi, Keane, Amy McDonald, Adele, Florence Welsh, Katy Perry...* 4. I love baking the bread. OK, it's industrial pre-baked loaves and baguettes that I put in the oven for 10 minutes. But they smell lush, and they come out golden and cr… [more]
