I Have Had a Ghost Encounter

Footprints In The Snow During the Winter of my 12th year, I encountered the small foot prints again. It was a bright, clear morning after a Nor' Easter had dropped close to two feet of snow on us. I was out walking around... [more]

Facebook , like anything else, is good and bad. Its nice when you can reconnect with old friends. I've made a few such hook ups. Met an old friend/gf who I hadn't seen in 25 years. It was good to know that she was well and happy. There was no thought of the day in the Summer of '84 when she picked another guy over me and left me heartbroken. Time heals. One day she ran into the fella she dropped me for at a restaurant. It bothered her, the memories. She sent me a note. I was the only one left in her new world that she could talk to about her feelings. I was the only one who would understand. And I did understand. At the end of her letter she apologized for what happened between us all thos… [more]

  • 'cause Gerry's dead

    Posted on: February 22nd, 2012 at 8:17PM

I had an interesting "encounter" Tuesday night. Not long after dinner I began to experience some rather sharp pains in my stomach. I'm not sure whether it was something I ate or a bug of some sort. Normally, it wouldn't be a big deal, but by Tuesday I was emotionally and physically exhausted. So I curled up in the recliner sort of on my side holding my stomach. I fell into a light sleep. When I woke, an old friend of mine, named Gerry O'Grady was sitting on the sofa right across from me. The main problem with this is that Gerry died in 2010. This wasn't a dream where I was in a different time or place. I was in my living room on February 21st 2012. He nodded to me. "Gerry, you've come a long… [more]

  • They go when the storms come........

    Posted on: July 25th, 2012 at 8:32PM

Monday was just an incredible day here. We had three lines of heavy electrical storms go through the Hudson Vally. The first storm hit around two in the afternoon. It was a "good" storm. There was quite a bit of cloud to ground lightning and loud thunder. The rain came down in buckets and afterward there was a lovely rainbow. The real show didn't take place until 10:45 that night. We were hit by a real storm. There was continuous lightning and thunder for 45 minutes. By continuous, I mean non stop. It was an impressive sight. We have a roofed, wrap around porch on the house so I was able to observe all points of the compass. We had storms all around us, North, South, East and West. Several pa… [more]

  • The Howler in the Storm

    Posted on: August 12th, 2010 at 9:58PM

This incident happened way back in the '70s, but it has stuck with me to this day. I was ten years old and my Mom, Dad, Sister and I all lived with my Grandmother in a 100 year old farm house in upstate New York. My parents and my sister slept in bedrooms upstairs while my Grandmother and I had rooms on the first floor. One night in early Autumn, when bad electrical storms can still roll through the Hudson Valley, I was raised from a sound sleep by an oncoming storm. Lightning brightened my room like a strobe light. The thunder rolled and the wind picked up. With the wind there came this other sound. It made goosebumps race over my body. It was an ungoldly howling. A wailing that didn't, co… [more]
