Unrepentant experiential liberal scum.
I am more inclined to put people before profits and greed. After all, as we go through life the only thing we have that counts is each other.

The Consequences Of Being Socially Awkward Growing up, my social skills were virtually nonexistent. Nobody noticed, except for my intelligence, that I was borderline aspergers and suffered from anxiety. I used to pray to be somebody else / … [more]

The Funniest Advice. When I had my vasectomy, the MD gave me a good strategy for dealing with the discomfort. To paraphrase "get a six-pack of beer you like. Put one between your legs and drink one. When you are done… [more]

Why I Do Not Contribute to Charities or Non-ProfitsNow that I've stopped contributing to the Salvation Army because of their virulent anti - gay stance, I no longer contribute to any charities or non-profits. I don't mind helping people directly (like I will do, acting as a guide for a blind skier in a couple of weeks), but, contributions? - nope, nada, nichts, the big zero. While we were pa… [more]

This essentially destroys the ability of people who work for a living to use the power of organization against the power of unbridled wealth. The chamber of commerce had an ******.People wonder why America is on a slide to the bottom, a heavily armed third-world nation that treats its workers like sharecroppers while the super rich retreat to their gated communities and private jets? Well, look no further. Republicans and chamber of commerce types, having no answers to building an American society, only offer the negative; privatize wealth an… [more]
I have fantasies about meeting somebody.I frequently traveled alone for work, on occasions being away for up to three months at a time. I also take motorcycle touring trips on my own since my spouse does not ride. So I have been frequently alone and have remained faithful. But that has been too easy for me (don't know why? Inapproachable? Yet I strike up conversations, even in foreign settings.). But what was hard is that I like to people watch. I see interesting people having fun as I end up wandering around alone, eating alone. The positive was that it taught me to like myself and learn to enjoy myself in even strange settings. However, a mechanism to keep my sanity was to imagine myself meeting somebody, enjoying sharing e… [more]
