Most optimistic pessimist I know. Fanatically opposed to fanatism and religiously avoid religion. I'm all thumbs when it comes to hitch-hiking...

I Dont Act My Age

Actually, I Do... I do act my age. It's just the years on my personal calender which are all wrong...Our actions and behaviour are a reflection of our spirit. But that spirit never gets older. [more]

I found "The One"... Or did I?
And I'm not talking about "Neo" Andersen either (see Matrix movie)... The thing is, it has to come from two sides, now doesn't it. It's all nice and comforting in a way to have found a lid of which you think it perfectly fits your jar, but there's a danger in it too. That danger -to which I partly fell pray- is that you start to focus too much on that person, or rather, on the things you like about (in my case) her. Sometimes it grows into a mini obsession. Not the possessive kind, but, you know, you can't think about anything else but her. As a consequence, your mind starts playing tricks on you and you start taking too many things for granted which aren't granted at all. A good thing 'she'… [more]

    Women & Me, part 1
I'm in a bit of a pickle, lately. I've always thought myself to be a one-woman guy, but thanks to some women I've encountered here -and with whom I have a very good relationship- my thoughts are shifting in the opposite direction... A lot has to do with those women's nature and their inborn need to let their man's comfort and well-being come first. Of course, we're speaking on-line relationship, so, nothing concrete has yet been established, but thanks to those women's willingness to play a subdued role, I must say I am walking down the path of temptation... I've never been one to care about conventions, so, who knows where this might lead. Probably nowhere, as real life is a completely di… [more]

    Down, Down, Deeper And Down...
I lived with manic depression for the best part of 45 years without knowing. I don't seek treatment because by the time someone told me, my entourage and me were so used to my moodswings that I found there was no point. But me, I'm always underway, that is, my mood is always shifting, somewhere between that rock bottom and the very top. It's like sprinting up and down a spiral staircase or an unwanted ticket for a rollercoaster ride. The thing is that I feel relatively comfortable at whatever level of mental instability I am at any given moment, even rock bottom. It's like I somehow can detach myself from my own state of mind and observe it from afar. Most of the time I don't even notice it.… [more]
  • Funny Confessions

I carry a grudge against time. There's never enough, or it is running out, or something which you want now will be yours in due time. Time after time, time is seldom on time, either, because it's often the wrong time or the right time at the wrong place or the wrong place at the wrong time. Then there's winter time turning into daylight saving time which makes you lose time as they steal an hour from a time that was already starting to run short. And sometimes when you arrive at an inconvenient time, after a while they say it's high time you went while you've got nowhere to go as no one's expecting you so early. So, out of protest, I threw away my watch and refuse to look at clocks. Which… [more]

  • Disability...

    Posted on: February 14th, 2011 at 9:51AM

I came across two interesting people, recently. Both here on EP. Both disabled. One clustered to a wheelchair, the other hopping around using protheses. What struck my about both, is that they don't 'suffer' from that disability. On the contrary, they are among to more down-to-earth, cheery people around. With the exception of SunniOne, that is. The latter does her name honor and outshines everybody in a 15000 mile radius -here's to you hon. But back to what I was musing about. What struck me when thinking about being disabled, is that quite a lot of people are indeed disabled, but most of them are so in the head. The two people I mentioned aren't disabled in the head. They just have the bad… [more]
