Sarcastic, witty, classic, intriguing, humorous, engaging, charming & well read. I'm a realist who accomplishes the goals I set for myself. I'm neither self-possessed or self-absorbed, as I leave plenty of time to be with those I care about & love. I not terribly spiritual, however when I attend an Anglo-Catholic Episcopal Mass at 'Smoky Mary's' in NY, and hear the boy trebles sing, I feel the closest to a divine being. And now I'm a daddy to a little blond headed, blue-eyed English boy knighted by HRM the Queen under the sword of St. George as Sir Lawrence Winston James Elliott and he & I keep the staff at Manor Prufrock hopping in Cheshire. He visits with his mum Lady Iona Joy Peel Elliott as her schedule permits. Prince William and Prince Harry are his God Fathers and Her Royal Majesty the Queen is his God Mother.

Ode to the Ancient Mariner© Lawrence Elliott, MD, CBS I gaze upon you nightly, old man of the sea. How strange it is to gaze; Not merely looking or glancing or even staring.Ever stranger is the image you arrest,That of a feeble soul comes to rest. Etched by Dali for the printed text,Your haunting vestige makes so clear;Man's darkest trembling terror of the nightSteals the mightiest of his might. Upon your knees humbling yourself,Matted and in a gilded frame,The torture you evoke leaves me weak,Stormy words did Coleridge make you speak. Tears pour upon his cassock, black and dank."Shrive Me, Shrive Me, Holy Man," you cry.Absolution you seek for your gutless arrow's trekThat brought down th… [more]

This blog is going to be a collage of things that pop into my head - questions I've always wondered about - just one giant size cosmic test of reality ... if your responses are fitting I'll add them to the blog as well. "There's a lot of ugly things in this world, son. I wish I could keep 'em all away from you. That's never possible." - Atticus Finch, from To Kill a Mockingbird "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go." - Dr. Seuss "If your parents never had children, chances are you won't either." - **** Cavett "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe." - Albert E… [more]

The GlimpseIt's just past 9:00, dinner had been uneventful, neither Paige nor I said much to each other, it had become customary now for years. Robina asked if we wanted coffee and dessert, Paige politely said "no thank you," I just ignored her, starring off vacantly under the hazy spell of a bottle of 1982 Chateau Haut-Brion, digesting in contemplation of making my hastily ritual retreat to the solitude of my study.Fixed firmly in my stale chambers, I sighed as I settled my aching arthritic body into my old worn leather club chair from my old college days at Yale. After regaining my breath, I lite a Macanudo Vintage 1997 cigar and poured myself a rather tall snifter of L'Esprit de Courvoisi… [more]
