I work extra hard in Grad school because I am the only Black woman in my class and my classmates do not talk to me. As a result, I have to stay on my toes because I can't reach out to a collegue to help sort any of my problems out.There is no sharing of ideas, strengths, and strategies. Thank God my professors believe in what I write; I feel bad for my classmates though. I find it repulsive that they say very faulty statements about teaching minority students or families with low income status regardless of race.
