Sins of my youthWhen I was eleven or twelve I found my mom's wedding ring on the end table by the couch. She'd removed it to apply lotion to her hands and had gotten distracted before replacing it. I took it because I wanted to see what would happen and how long it would be before she missed it because she always wore it. Being a kid it took about five minutes before I forgot it existed. That night I was waked by my stepdad shouting at my mom and accusing her of doing unsavory things.
