SkippingTheGoldenYears - 18-21 years old - female

Always wanted to visit Japan, I am just naturally drawn to there. But now I have done things to myself that may cause me to never visit there, or at least to never enjoy it. Wow I really screwed myself. My regrets are messing up all my dreams! FMS. **** my self. Because my life ain't the problem, I am.

You can still go. You'll still like it. Regrets are only unrealized dreams.

I understand what you mean when you say your life isn't the problem, it's actually you. And that seems even more horrible. It seems that even if you change your life, you can't change yourself, so what is the point, you know?

It's never too late for anything as long as you are alive. You can do whatever you want if you really want it, for the most part. There are things impossible, that is true, but your problem is most likely not impossible to overcome. I am not sure about how the Japanese would react to you, but from all I have heard many Japanese are quite friendly and I am sure that they could get over looks, just like anyone else can. So don't give up on dreams and hopes you have just because of how you look. If someone like George W. Bush would try to win the Nobel Peace Prize, that would be impossible, but what your body looks like does not matter. Do whatever you want and have fun doing so. And if regrets are making you abandon your present and future, get rid of them if you can. What has happened cannot be changed, what is happening and what is going to happen on the other hand is still changeable. It would be better for you to get over your regrets and try to seek for a better future, I think. This certainly is easy for someone like me to say who just has to worry about his daily live problems and his own stupidity. I am not in your position, so I can't really tell if you could do what I suggest, but hey, at least try to cheer up. Live is way too short to worry about what mistakes have been made. In the end you would just realize that you have accomplished nothing by regretting things and see that your live up till then has been miserable, not because of the mistakes you have made, but because of the way you dealt with these mistakes. Try to realize this before you are old, while you can still do something about it. I realized my mistakes in time and I got over most of them and it helped me to turn away from despair and depression, into a brighter future. Well then, enough of my sermons. Just do what you want and be happy.
