please stop driving now. Just because you will likely die soon, does not mean that the rest of us want to.

They do dangerous things, like stop in the middle of the road when the speed limit is 60mph.

I think that when you are taking care of an elderly person, you need to understand them much like a parent says "know your children" I'd say the same is true with caretakers and senior relatives (or whatever the case may be).

I'm fortunate enough that I have an 86 year old aunt living independently that has definitive boundaries for herself with her driving (doesn't drive at night, doesn't go further than certain distances from her home) and isn't afraid to ask friends to give her a lift if need be.

I don't think government should get too involved b/c I don't believe in a 'one size fits all' approach governments like to take on stuff like this

Speaking as a paramedic I have gone to too many accidents caused by the very old driver. Many don't realize that their driving habits need to change...or that perhaps they need to hang up the keys for good. For those reasons I believe that there should be mandatory testing at 65...then 70...then anually after that. Vision, hearing, reflexes. ..all these diminish naturally with aging.
