I have always hated math in school it is just so much that you have to learn, so many problems to solve and too many numbers to remember its like one day i would know how to solve the long problems and  come up with there solutions but the next day i would forget part of what i was suppose do in a problem with number carrying and scratching out

stuff i hated doing that and my teacher would always put us in these speed groups and most of the time when she called me up in front of the class i would get stuck on the problem letting my  team down and they would always yell at me hurry up! the other team is going to win hurry up and finish the problem! and i would be

crying on the inside and trying my hardest to remember what to do but i would just get so stuck sometimes it would feel like i was drowning in quick sand and my tears of embarrassment  because everyone was looking at me,  everyone was counting on me and i didn't want to let them down so hated myself for forgetting part to what i had learned so quickly and i hated myself for letting my team down  ugh i hated it

and now every time that i see that math problem i remember what happened that day i remember everything about that day it haunts me my sister came to me needing help with the same problem one time and i broke down at the table crying remember that day i wish it would just leave my head and go away.

I feel your pain. Math is a b---tch!!! In high school, I battled Geometry twice! That was the toughest subject for me. Math can break you mentally, made me CRY. Then when I got to college, I majored in a subject in which I had to take Pre-cal, Calculus for Business, three Accounting courses and Finance. I had to learn so many formulas and things...I swear my mind nearly exploded into a zillion pieces. Math can make you go insane.

It is not your fault, it is your teachers fault. They should not have taught you 'rules' such as how to carry a number over. Instead they should have given you the understanding behind it. I am training to be a teacher and my maths tutor at university is magnificent. I scraped through my exams only with luck as I had teachers like yours. My tutor makes me actually understand the Maths. Your teacher has also managed to traumatise you by putting you under so much pressure (even worse in front of your peers) and with a subject you were obviously not confident with. I learnt a lot of the Maths I needed to get into university through youtube and with children's work books and resources such as number lines, counters and bead strings.

yesterday I was talking to my bf on skype and we were talking abt usual things when our conversation changed and became purely mathematical..he asked me several measurement related questions like how much is there in a mile, how much meters u work from ur place to ur office(i replied that correctly lol!), plus abt how much meters it covered the room(we were talking abt flood), or how much u measure in pounds, or how much u are in height ( i can reply that in m, and cm not in feet and inches)..he asked me abt multiplication table of 9, i could reply but i went blackout at a point koz i know he was judging me(maybe)...felt soooooo embarrassed..

later he asked me abt the brand of mobile am using, told him but he didnt get it koz it was an old model then he asked me abt what are the mobile brand I knw...i told him some like iphone, samsung, ericson(he told me its the same), nokia, and blackberry..I dont know much of the brandy mobile stuff koz am not a real fan of these I dont know how will I talk to him..i feel so embarrased..but yeah he told me that he loves me several times:(
