Robot is how you say it — my mother is like a zombie. I don't feel connected to her. I don't know who she is, and I never have because she's been ultra-religious since before I was born. I wish nothing more for a normal mother, but I'm grown up now and have to accept reality — she is absent and I didn't have a mother to nurture me. As an adult I still feel like a kid sometimes. I feel like I need to control her — she's just like an addict (I believe she is addicted).

I hear your frustration, I hope you look after yourself! Maybe you can find another trustworthy non-religious adult to talk about this with.
