What to do?

So i know my bestfriend likes me. Only because  his mom told me. She ask me not to tell him that she told me. Its just that i dont see him like that. Yeah we hang out all the time and do what ever and always have a good time. We have very long conversations about anything. He takes very good care of me. And its why i see him like a brother. They were times when i would think maybe i can or should see him more then a friend. I just cant! I always thought about how i want a guy like him but not him. This is not the first time it happen. Last time the guy stopped talking to me and hates me now. It hurt me so bad because i really loved him like a friend. Now i think its gonna happen again. :(
