I read today: dogs are extremely susceptible to ridicule and they actually get embarrassed if they think that people are laughing at them.

That's heartbreaking. I always laugh when my sisters tiny dog humps her shoe. :/

My dogs are opposites that way.....my older dog seems to enjoy being called silly and doesn't show any kind of remorse or shame (she's just happy-go-lucky), but my younger dog knows if she's done something wrong & starts to exhibit behavior indicating remorse/shame.
