Let's just get the confession part out of the way up front:
Okay, now while you catch your breath, lemme explain my heathenous ways to you. I personally don't believe that the 21st century  'church' is anything more than a false, judgemental, hypocritical social club that's far more interested in deciding who is more showy and glitzy than anything to do with your relationship with God.
I just don't have time for all that bull; nor am I willing to waste any time playing some sort of religious game to impress my neighbors, all the while fornicating, talking bad about my fellow human, and completely lacking the one virtue that Jesus demands of us:giving unto others without expecting anything in return. And that's all today's church community is, with of course some exceptions. church-goers, especially in this country say one thing to your face, and then lambast you as soon as you leave the room. They talk a good game about wanting only to help the homeless and destitute, but turn around and shackle those in need with crippling restrictions and unrealistic demands before they'll lift one sorry finger to help them.
I've had very negative experiences with churches in the past, and finally disassociated myself from them more than twelve years ago, and in that time I have actually developed a closer and more meaningful, if nowadays strained, relationship with God. So no, I have no intention of ever stepping foot inside another Sunday sermon(in fact I look upon the whole idea with disdain), and yes, I feel like I'm on the right track.

Nope. Organized religion is a joke. It's a beauty contest, a "look what I drive" contest, 1-2 hours of people acting a little more decent than normal to justify their hardly human behavior the rest of the week.

A quote I find appropriate if I am remembering correctly goes like this: Standing in a garage doesn't make you a car, anymore than going to church makes you a christian.

What people DO outside of those walls is essential.

Social club! Just brilliant as an analogy!

It is so very true....I can only imagine the diner party sprouting from this one...and the reunions....I'm laughing already :3
