Ghost in the Machine

The deleted accounts on here... it's so weird reading a story from one of them... it feels like the words of the deceased... ghosts floating in the internet void, no longer being observed by the ones who created them and brought them into existence... the internet is such a weird phenomenon in that way... some one I knew, a teacher from my college years who had friended me on face book passed away not too long ago.   Her account is still there and people have been posting on her wall... telling stories, posting pictures, generally crying out and mourning the passing of a great lady... there's a memorial to her in this virtual world now.  I don't know how long face book leaves up accounts like this; if they ever take them down, but it's still kind of mind blowing... We can leave an enduring mark on the vastness that is the internet... something that wasn't possible just a few short years ago.  Even as I write this, my voice is becoming a drop in this virtual ocean... very trippy thoughts today.
