Thats why God should be the object of peoples hearts desires not people, people will always let you down because the higher you place them the higher they fall. Jesus said why do you call me good when only God is good. Teachers are trying to help you if you listen to what they say rather than what you want them to say. Its all about the hearts desires. God loves us even when it seems like no one else on earth does. When we accept that and build on it we become the person who we love from within and when we love us its easy for others to love us too. Putting someone as our idol only leaves us hurt and angry. God leads us to help but we should thank Him for it no the person. Make the message the honor and God the saviour.

    I've never really understood that. Why does God have to perfect. Why can't he have some flaws, but be good overall?

    God is Holy, and good, his essence is love. He is perfect, though to satisfy your comment, He doesn't always do what we want, look at Jesus just before his crucifixion, He asked God to take this cup from Him but God didn't, and if He would have then the whole world would have had no hope, so He does only things for our greater good, even though we don't always see it that way.

    Then why put God as our idol?, From wat i can see of most religions God is portrayed as a powerful human.

    Im not religous but i dont claim that there is nothing that can be considered a god.

    I just think that if there is something similar its so far beyond human comprehension that we simply wouldnt know wat to make of it.



    And no religous text i have seen gets anywhere close to what i think of as a God.



    If religon helps you in your personal life and makes you a better person by all means persue it. But that doesnt mean it will work for everyone.

    God is perfect and can do anything he desires.He is the creator and life giver and he can take life away.People should not have idols but just worship God.
