No gifts for Christmas

This Christmas will be the first Christmas that we're too broke to get gifts for our kids.  I could try to find stuff at Goodwill, but the toys there are usually garbage. And I don't want to get the kids presents they won't even like, and will just get donated back to Goodwill by summer.  :-(  I don't want to tell anyone that my kids aren't getting anything, because I don't want anyone to go out of their way and feel sorry for us.  I wonder how much more sorry I'll be when I see the disappointment in my kids' faces come December 25th.

    =[ there are lots of organizations that might be able to help you get something for them that they will really like. It's worth looking into. Don't feel bad about it, everyone goes through hard times.

    i think you have got the right idea ....christmas is not about gifts...it is about being together as a family....so many people get the wrong idea as it is totally comercialised...totally out of control...your children will not miss anything ...toys are rubbish anyway...we do need to stop feeling guilty about not giving our children junk to fill their rooms....give them the gift of writing or story telling that will grow with them and be fthere always....give them morals....and the gift or parents brothers sistersfamily...

    there are organizations locally to help with that so that you dont feel like crap...depending on how old they are...dollar store, 5-below store...or do a home-made Christmas...everyone has to make something...they dont have to know its because of money...its about loving and sharing and spending the day with the ones you love, and religiously, celebration of the birth of Christ...I can say this and anyone else can, but they'd feel badly too if they were in your shoes...so I feel for you!! hang in there, Im sorry and I hope you find an answer...
