Sometimes I get so upset that I literally go numb... I can't feel myself really... Like nothing will hurt me it feels like i'm there but at the same time i'm not... I don't get why but like today I just got so down that I couldn't feel anything. Nothing effected me, it's weird but it happens every time I get really upset or something. I will get a bad headache and then feel nothing besides my headache... I can't explain it exactly but it happens.. And then sometimes it doesn't, sometimes my stomach just starts hurting because of my anxiety. It hurts like hell but after having it for 3 years now it's easier to deal with..

This is probably a coping mechanism your mind used related to the period when you were suffering the sexual abuse. You are somaticizing your feelings and upset into physical symptoms. This conversion protected you from having to face the reality of what was happening at the moment. The mind is really an amazing thing that we have and it does things automatically behind the scenes to protect our emotional stability. Also, you are describing the phenomenon of numbness as it relates to an extreme symptom of anxiety.

These symptoms also tell me that there is not enough therapeutic talk about your abuse or other life stressors going on, so unfortunately you are prone to having these types of responses.
