I have an appointment tomorrow to see my therapist, my therapist I've been seeing for almost three and a half years. Im so close to breaking I think Im finally desperate enough to tell him Im fighting suicidal thoughts and lately urges. Im terrified Im gonna end up locked in a white padded room but I really trust my therapist and I am really starting to scare myself.

I think you should, and wishing you luck. No you won't end up in a padded cell.

Speaking from experience...the chances of you being placed in a psychiatric facility is pretty high when you express thoughts of suicide to a therapists. Most states require them to do that by law. They will usually convince you of doing it voluntarily instead of by force. I mentioned it once to my psychiatrist and was placed in a hospital for 2 weeks on a suicide watch. Wasn't a fun experience.

First off are you taking antidepressants? If you are you actually would be better off voluntarily committing yourself to come off them. So many people have the exact same feelings while taking them and don't realize how dangerous they truly are, they get blind sided by the seemly unending feelings of suicide and give up. If you are on them my advice is get off them while under supervision of a professional. A few weeks of observation and therapy is not alot to pay when you consider losing your life. If you aren't on them I'd advise you to be completely frank and honest with your doctor so he can help you, sometimes there are real psyological reasons that can be treated. Above all you aren't alone so many people fear mental health issues they often never seek treatment. I hope you find peace and good luck .

I disagree. Antidepressants saved my life. If it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't be here.
