    Just be thankful today came...

I have now been on both sides of this. Being a product of the 60's and 70's(of which I remember alot and a little) I certainly experienced "good" drugs. But, things have changed in a way. Today, I am sitting here missing my daughter who accidentally died due to Heroin Toxicity(sounds better than OD, right? She would have been 24 next Monday, but, just 2 months ago, I found her just after taking her second "hit" after snorting, huffing and just about every other avenue to "not feel". She was in full arrest while her brother and I desperately tried to revive her through CPR attempts.

True, I lost her, but, have lost my son as well, even though her is alive and breathing today.

Just know that not only is tomorrow not promised, the next hour, minute or second after the next "hit".

I hope you can read this through someone's eyes who loves you, or through your own eyes, once you love yourself.

Life is a ***** most of the time, but, it's so true that it's the only one we've got...if you woke up today and had it, you are truly blessed.

Sending my thoughts and hopes that you will open your eyes for real and see that we all only have ONE "SHOT" at it....

Drugs & Alcohol only mask the problem(s). We drink or drug to self-medicate our pain. It may work for a while, but not for long. There are so many trained therapists out there and so many good medications now that there's no reason to self-medicate. You are not alone. Find a good support group & learn to love yourself.
