There's a difference between goodbye and letting go.

Goodbye is..."I'll see you later when I'm ready to hold your hand & you're ready to hold mine."

Letting go is..."I'll miss your hand. I realize it's not mine to hold. And I'll never hold it again."

True and hard to do but peace comes with acceptance. Sometimes it helps to not take it personally but to realize it was just not meant to be. It was only one of life's difficult lessons which we all go through and learn from. Good luck to you.

Dang girl you nailed it! I started talking with an ex I have "let go" of several times over the last 30 years. I "let go". He "says goodbye". Always to come back around like a extended season or cycle. But darn it, it just doesn't work. Sure the first few weeks or month is fun, then it heads south quickly and we part again on bad terms. If there is a lesson in it, I am sure not getting it. Hopeless and helpless like a moth to the flame.
