I dream of a black/shadow cat he/she can be small or large but radiates a feeling of great power. I believe that black cat to be my totem and guardian spirit, whenever he/she appears in my dreams I know all is well but also to take note as there is something important to take in. It first came to me in my sleep when I was 15-16, for days it stalked me in my bedroom. I was partially terrified, as I had not seen it but I could sense this large powerful, dark predatory creature watching me. Didn't help my bedroom was in a separate building twenty meters away from the house with rainforest all around. Each night it seemed closer and closer till I could almost feel it breathing on me as I slept. Then one night I fell asleep with the light on one night, we also had a black pet cat at this time. I thought i awoke to our pet cat curling up beside but when I tried to look at it, I couldn't I only got a glimpse of shadow then it was curled on my chest & stomach. I tried again same result but now it was on my other side, it still felt like a cat and I tried to look straight at it again. This time it jumped off my bed but my bed rocked like something huge had jumped off the bed. I immediately got up but now I was truly awake and there was nothing to be seen. I raced up to the house and there was our pet black cat contently asleep between mom & dad. From then on I knew, that big black shadowy cat liked me, why else would he/she come for cuddles LOL! The timing of this dreaming was very close to the age which the Americans Indians find their totems. Plus I just knew this was my guardian spirit straight away. I still have not seen this cat straight on, usually he/she is stalking along the edge of my vision or I see his/her in the distance as silhouette amongst some scrubs. The dreams this shadow cat appears in are often vivid and memorable.
