Journey To Find Home (A Journey Dream)
First of all, I should give you some background; about a year ago my father left my mother, and my siblings and I have had very limited communication with him since (he's been very depressed and is rarely up for talking). Anyway, I had a very strange, very vivid dream last night, and I almost never remember my dreams this clearly: it started out As I was on a journey with a few boys who I don't know. We were walking through a cave. Well, they were walking and for some reason I was crawling. Once we got out of the cave the boys were joined by a large group of other boys; they were all wearing Eskimo-like attire, and seemed to be indigenous of the cold mountainous region we were walking in. My mom was hiking alongside me, and she kept telling me that when we got to the end and saw the arch, I would be able to go home. I then pictured the arch as a bright, glowing entrance to some kind of cave. She said that my dad was in there waiting, that he had the house all set up. We saw hundreds of wolf-type animals running with us below the mountain, and the eskimo boys warned us not to get too close to them. My mom told me I could go back to college once we got "there," but at a school in Montana (in real life, I currently attend college in Virginia). Then all of the sudden we had finished the journey. My mom and I were inside a very nice house, waiting for my dad to get there so we could leave---he was across the street. When he finally came over he said he understood why we wanted to get rid of that house, and we shouldn't fix it up anymore. The three of us sat in the front yard; the grass was SO green. My dad told us that we could be as angry as we wanted to be and he totally understands that we don't want to talk to him anymore. His voice was so cheerful as he said it. My mother and I looked at each other strangely because neither of us felt that way. I started to cry and asked him, "Do you not want to have a relationship with us?" ... "No, no. You mean no more to me than life," he responded. I cried harder and harder as he put his arms around me. My mom stood up to go to the car and waited for me to follow her. When I didn't get up she said, "Okay, keep sitting with dad for a while." After she walked away I said to my dad, "I miss you," but I was crying so hard that I was difficult to understand, and my lips had started to stick together. My dad aske what I said, and I tried to repeat it but lips were even more stuck to before. Then I woke up.

Your subconscious is working hard to comprehend something very confusing. I think in this dream you are trying to understand both your mum's and dad's perspectives, and you are concerned about your dad's state of mind. Contact your dad. Any contact is better than none. And don't give yourself too hard a time... If they don't understand what is going on, you will not be able to figure it out for them... :)
