|  I have had a reccuring dream for about 13 years now. It comes and goes, but when it comes it is the EXACT same every time. In this dream I am traveling on a road in the same fashion as a skateboarder would. . . Only, there is no skateboard I am simply gliding over the pavement (this is how I travel in all my dreams). In my hands I hold a beautiful electric guitar made of bone. The frets are designed with demon skulls that jutt out and speak as my fingers run over them. Each demon skull has its own name those of which I am not able to speak. The strings are made of a material that rings its specific note with no effort whatsoever. Therefore I am led to believe that even a small child, if so inclined may master this axe at its very arrival in their small hands. I arrive in a town with streets full of people. These people all seem to move with a certain determined sluggishness while I weave in and out amongst them, they are all grounded. I speak to a certain few (strangers in the face, but familiar to me) without moving my lips. I ask them for directions, they point the way. In this way I continue untill I find myself grounded on a staircase, walking up. The walk is refreshing yet laborsome, I am breathing heavily. As I turn the stairwell I see my sister and she is pointing at an open door leading outside and shouting But I can hardly hear her) something about running. I exit the stairwell through the door she is pointing at. I am on a ledge I look to my left and there are several men coming at me, they are floating in the same fsahion as I before I entered the stairwell. They are coming to get me and stop me and I know it. . . I jump to the sky and fly into the clouds with the strange men on my tail. At the moment I fly (not skateboard) I suddenly go into slow motion but my assailants are still traveling fast. I realize this will not do, so I land on another stairwell, grounded again I run down the stairs to get to the street where I know I can skate faster than they. I reach street level again, the men still chasing me, sluggish people still all around, I begin to skate as fast as I can. The entire time I know exactly where I need to be. I am searching for the amplifier to plug this demon guitar into. I hear the music in the distance and I know I am close, but the strange men who I am certain are trying to capture me or stop me are closer than ever before. In a final act of desperation, I swing the axe in a 360 degree turn and I jet once again into the clouds, this time far, far above the earth and I see the men dissappear into the distance. When I come down I am outside a gate, a simple wooden gate. I touch my guitars frets and the demons speak and the gate opens. There is the amplifier and people I know in the face and in soul. They are all smiling and waiting for me. I approach the amplifier and pick up the cord. There is a buzzing feedback as my fingers come into contact with the metal on the male insertion plug, I touch the male and female connectors ready to jam it in and play. . . Then I wake up. |
