By IdleTraveller Gemini New Year's Mysteries (New Years Dream) It's almost midnight. My housemates and I went out onto our balcony to watch the countdown and the ball slide up a pole. Both of which we had a perfect view of despite the crowds. Everyone counted down, and then waited for the ball to slide up the pole. It was a minute or so late. And then it didn't even get lit up once it reached the top. In fact, it actually looked as though it just kept flying upwards - something that only I appartently noticed. Although people agreed with me when I asked them. The late ball, and then the lack of it being lit seemed to act as a mood kill. On the street people dispersed, and we went back inside to watch TV. However, the down mood didn't last for long. I got a phone call from a friend asking if they could come take refuge at our place for awhile. We were more than happy to let them come round. I went back out onto the balcony, and got the two of them to climb up over the railing to get in. It was then that the ball made another appearance; this time dimly lit. It circled us a couple of times and flew away - it had wings at this point. More people appeared back on the street. I even saw my neighbour from my previous address. At first glance it looked like he was wearing a suit top with short shorts. But in fact, he was actually wearing really tight suit pants. He invited us to something further up the street, and I agreed, and made my housemates come with. I told my friend to take what she needed before leaving. We didn't make it very far up the street before we were in danger. I don't know what it was. All we knew was that we had to get back onto our balcony to be safe. As we ran, I think I saw a glimpse of the now winged ball following. But I couldn't see it after I had clamboured over the balcony railing. My friend wasn't at the apartment anymore, and my pillowcases were lying all over the floor. I didn't give it another thought, and just stayed out on the balcony talking to people on the street for the rest of the night.
