I’m so hoping someone can help me with this as it’s driving me crazy.

This is the third time I’ve had this dream, or should I say experience now. It normally starts with me being aware in the dream, and this can be anything I’m dreaming about, that there is some kind of entity close to me. All of a sudden I feel this horrible dark energy on top of me holding me down and suffocating me. I am absolutely terrified, and that’s putting it mildly. Somehow I instinctively know to say the Lord’s Prayer, although I can hardly get the words out of my mouth. It’s such a huge struggle, like I’m losing my life force. I get to about the third or fourth line of the Lord’s Prayer and the entity eventually breaks away. This is something it does with great anger and I feel the force of this. The last time this happened, which was 2 weekends ago, I actually felt the bed move as it jumped off of me. It also made a kind of growling noise and knows it was greatly angered by not being “successful” in its attempt to take my “soul” away. I know by this time I’m most definitely awake as I clearly see the bottom of my bed bounce. I can’t say this strongly enough – I’m absolutely terrified! I immediately get out of bed and go through to my daughter’s room and get in beside her for comfort.

I had a previous one before this and the same thing happened, but that time I couldn’t even move. I managed to screech a low whisper out for my daughter to help me, which she only just heard and came through running. She said she had woken up suddenly feeling that there was something wrong and then just a few seconds after that she heard me whimpering. That one was as terrifying as this one. I go to bed most nights scared to death. I end up leaving the light on all night. I haven’t had one since but feel that there is something in my home most for the time.

Can someone help me or point me in the right direction for help.

Thank you.

Dear Friend,

I have these things too sometimes when i dont pray.
Each time i have a nightmare like this, i cry on to the lord in my mind and he instantly saves me. Trying to call your daughter or someone else is a trap. The last two times, i was fooled by three of them one acting like my mother distracting me from thinking abt God.
I heard that they try to take the life energy out of people to stay on this earth after death.

sometimes on days like these, you will have some feeling to pray. so pray regularly with a full heart and faith. Have full faith that God can save you even if the entity tries to fool you that He cant sometimes.

If you dont have any christian ministers to help, there is one good healer Azhar Majid Sheikh. The first healing words "hu hu hu " might be scary but its actually the name of God. He is on facebook and his yahoo is care_azhar. email is azhar.m.sheikh is his gmail.com

God bless you!

You don't have to struggle to say prayers when this happens. You have to make the mind strong and say the prayers from your mind. It cannot stop you thinking/asking for the Lord to save you. Say this the psalm 91:2: "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him i will trust."

The evil entity will fly away.

Precautions:
1. Pray every day. It does not only limit saying prayers but talking to God like to a friend. Read the Bible. Psalm 91 is one great psalm.
2. try bringing in a pastor or a father, whoever you rely on and ask them to pray and exorcise if there is anything there.
3. Please do not worship or join/visit any spiritual community as most of them encourages thoughts abt coexistence with paranormals.
4. Do not watch horror/paranormal movies/shows. When blessing and healing can come via TV, evil can come too.
5. Try to be as close to God and keep a Bible beside your pillow and pray before you go to sleep. Try changing the place of sleep. If nothing works, try changing the house or exorcising the evil spirit/entity there.

also, try not to lie in the supine(lying with the face up) position. this is a very vulnerable position.
pls pray regularly. you dont have to struggle to say prayers. its more than enough if you think in the mind asking for God's help saying psalm 91:2 "He is my refuge and my fortress; my God in Him i will trust" or just call on the Lord's name as Jesus/yahweh with full trust in the mind. hallelujah can also help.
God bless you!

@TINANGEL- I have seen what you have seen but once. I know your not looking to be converted but maybe you should pray to Jesus. I mean really what do you have to lose? My boyfriend is buddhist and he tried to help me but the only thing that helped was me praying to jesus and reading my bible, asking him to protect me. I totally understand your method of pulling from different religions because I used to do the same thing, and to be honest I still do at times. They're are good habits and morals that come from other religions but im primarly christian. Anyways my point is that, after I did that and stopped resisting praying to jesus then it didn't happen to me anymore. If you have a group, that you seek..Does it stop after you do that, or does it just go away for that night and it comes back?

This is definitely not sleep paralysis. The exact same thing that happend to has happened to me not once but twice. It was last year in 2010 and it happened twice in the space of about 8 months. On the first instance, I fell asleep around late evening and my eyes opened around 5am only to find myself pinned to the bed...LITERALLY! I was thinking to myself 'what the hell is going on' ...I can see that I'm awake and I could barely moved. I tried so HARD to get up but I couldnt...it felt like a huge weight was definitely holding me back. I started to scream so loud and I couldn't even hear anything...I started to swear at whatever it was and I fought as hard as I could to win this battle and out of no where a black shadow came out of my body and then stood on the edge of my bed and started to smile. It also had white teeth and it seemed like a more femanine than a masculine presence Then a few seconds later I actually saw it fly through my bedroom window and then it was all over. I could move again and it felt like a huge bulk of negative energy had just moved away from my body. I was also out of breath when it left me which was me feeling drained as I just had a battle with a spirit or whatever it was. To this day I still can't believe that happened to me and it was 100% out of this world!

The second instance was a few months later. This was similar to the first instance except this time I saw a glowing light in front of me and again I fought so hard to get this thing away from me. I yelled, I started swearing at it (couldn't hear it btw) and then I started saying god's name and it went away. It hasn't happened for almost 10 months now so it's a good sign but boy I wouldn't want to experience this phenomenon again! So scary!

Hi everyone.

I had a smiler dream to what everyone is describing. Im especially surprised to hear how people also felt the tingling sensation before the force of the pressure starting pushing down on me. Just before the tingling started i could hear what sounded like a electric charge coming from a plug next to my bed. It felt like it was a slow moving energy coming towards my bed and the electric charge happend as the energy moved past the power plug towards my bed. The tingling lasted for a few seconds, and felt quite nice to begin with, but once it went away and the pressure increased on me i started getting concerned. my eyelids felt like they weight a ton and i struggled to open them. i was also shaking very badly. the kinda of uncontrollable shake you get when your very cold. the whole experience only lasted about 30 seconds to a minute but when it went away i was completely out of breath and absolutely clueless as to what happened. It really felt as if i as awake or aware of my surroundings while this happened.

Im not a very religious person and the next morning i replayed the whole incident in my head and my first thought was if i was a religious person i would think i was attacked by some demon, or dark energy. My take on it was it's just a very powerful and vivid dream. It was a very intense experience and made for some good conversation afterwords. I find it especially interesting how so many people could have the same dream/experience. Makes me wonder if indeed it was a dream.

I have also had this experience - in a specific room in a house my mother no longer owns, she had never had this experience until one night she happened to sleep in the same room. I had heard the entity ( male energy) laughing but had not related that part, she called me after her experience and said, "was it laughing?". So don't think you are crazy - it happens! We realized the room had been used as a camera obscura and that there was a large antique mirror leaning against a wall with an antique window leaning against IT.... We THINK perhaps something was trapped in all of that. That mirror was subsequently moved to another house and I saw a ghost ( a full figure union soldier in uniform looking solid as can be) walk behind me and through a wall. When restoring the house we discovered the area in the wall had been a doorway. Check your bedroom - perhaps rearrange the furniture - are there things in the room that might be holding energy? You may try several clearing techniques - all religions have them - and your prayers seem to be helping and a comfort to you. You might want to learn a few simple mantras that are protective in nature and that call on the strength of the female energies - you are not required to change your belief system for mantras to be helpful to you. I am coming late to this discussion, but I hope that something I have said might be a comfort. You are not alone in this experience and whether you believe it comes from within yourself or is in fact an entity and regardless of your religious beliefs - praying for strength, guidance and protection should help. The universe is a big place and there are many things we do not understand - know that you are NOT alone and may have help just by asking. Negative energies, or evil beings if that is how you see it, are not welcome in your life - say it, believe it and dispel them. Imagine a warm and loving mother that will protect you fiercely and your "dreams" of this sort might well disappear! Good Luck and many blessings!

I have felt this dream many times. I think I was 17 when it first started and I began keeping track of it. Every month on the 2nd and 19th I would dream this dream a 5:30am. I would sometimes get visuals in my mind of what the spirit/demon was trying to tell me. I would be sleeping on my back, vulnerable, when I would start to feel a tingling sensation while also feeling unable to move. I felt pressure on my chest and my arms, sometimes just on my legs but the rest of my body remained limp. I would get visuals of my room, dark, with a small dark figure on top of me, and once he got off I would get a visual of small fiery footprints walking away from my bed. I would be screaming for my mom but no one would hear me. I am always able to awake from dreams I do not want to be having but I can never awake from this until the spirit is satisfied. Now, almost 5 years later, it has started again. How did I get rid of it before. I imagined a glowing white light around my body as if it would protect me. I believed if I thought of God or Christ while falling asleep and when the dream started that it would stop. It did. I am not religious, but I believed what I needed to in order for this dream to stop.

This dream apparently will occur when you are going through something extremely emotional or stressful. I hope this helps...

I went online specifically looking for someone else besides myself, who has had this experience as well. Luckily I've only experienced this one time about 15 years ago, but I have never completely gotten over it. Till this day I no longer sleep on my back. At first I heard breathing in my left ear. Then my "entity" held me down and I heard loud deep pitched breathing in my face. When I opened my eyes I only saw waviness. It looked like when heat is rising from a heater or fire. I quickly closed my eyes again and instinctively begun praying the "Our Father". Even though I hadn’t prayed in a long time before that it was the first thing that came to mind. Within a couple of seconds it released me and I sprung up hard, like a pulled back rubber band being let go. I almost immediately thought it was a nightmare. But when I laid back down, this time on my side I felt a pressure beginning to press down on my side again. I jumped up and ran to my mother's room. I slept with her for 2 weeks and after that a few months in the living room. Till this day I do not sleep on my back. I can only say that even though my faith is far from healthy, I think about how the first thing I did was pray. Reading the others' experiences seems to show that prayer is the key. I really don't believe in spiritual cleansings but "You never know". I have friends that believe in spiritual house cleaning. Even though I don’t believe in them, but like praying, it would be the first thing on my mind to do if the visits kept reoccurring. Good luck. And please keep us posted.
(PS Try asking about the cleansing in a “Botanica”. Ask around to see if there’s one near you, you can go to. It’s a sort of spiritual store.)

I have felt the same thing in many of my nightmares to. I usually whisper for help though and can't move my body. But I found out that by saying prayers seems to help make it go away. Cause when I have those dreams or nightmares I call them, I tend to pray in them now, but sometimes that isn't enough. But, I hope this helps at all.

This is how I came to know Jesus-- thought I was going crazy with these dreams and things happening even while I was awake...asked my brother (who is a pastor) what's going on--he told me to call on the name of Jesus--His name is the most powerful name--had problems at first with the demons suppressing me and blocking my throat--but eventually I learned to call on Jesus even while in dreams--and I saw the demons leave every time.
Jesus, there's something about that name~!

Okay well I just had a similar dream last night, and I've had the same thing happen prior to last night so even though it bothered me it didn't bother me as much as it did before. Last night I dreamed that I was walking down the road and some dark force came up behind me and was forcing me to my knees and I was screaming to the top of my lungs, and I was strainning so much to say anything. I was calling out to God, but nothing could be heard, like someone cut out my tounge. It pushed me down and left and I woke up. Another time I was in the kitchen and it did the same thing. The very first time I wasn't dreaming anything and I was somewhere in between sleep and waking up. It suddenly got black and I just saw this ugly looking, demonic white face get close to my face and scream the uglyist scream ever and I woke up screaming. When I woke up my bf freaked out and said, I saw what you saw, and started to tell me everything that I saw. I had just gotten baptized at the time and I wasn't sleeping on back any of the times. The first time someone told me that it was trying to probably get to my bf because he wasn't saved and the force was upset because it couldn't get to him because of me, because I was laying my head on his body. I don't know how much of that is true, but maybe. My new bf is buddhist and we respect each others religion and I don't know if its because he has a statue of buddah in the room or what. The only thing that I have seen that has helped is turning on christian music low and praying. Its good to see some people understand what i've been going through, but im not happy to see that we all have to experience this.

I feel like i had the same dream last night. it was intense and i got all the details of what happened.

Well i am in the Army... and i heard this happens under extreme anxiety thats when spirits find you the most vulnerable... well i have been back a while from training and ive been waiting forever for my military bonus... and just last night my pay stub popped up online showing my bonus amount... i want to buy a car but the one im lookin at is still 650 dollars more than my bonus amount... so i was stressing out and could not fall asleep last night. at 3:33 Exactly ( i have a big green digital display clock on my night stand right next to my face) i started to feel like my whole body was tingling... like when your leg falls asleep. every time i tried to sit up... i could only move an inch off my bed before i was stopped by a powerful force holding me down. i KNOW i was awake because i could not sleep over the situation. i remember yelling and screaming for my mom and for help... but my hearing was very muffled i did not know how loud i was yelling... plus i have a basement bedroom and my mom was the only one home. she said she wasnt sleeping very well so she would have heard yelling from downstairs and she heard nothing... so i must have not been yelling loudly. this demon or entity was very strong. i could not lift my arms straight out but i tried to. and i remember i managed to grab the sheets from beneath me and sort of just slide them right past my face and over my head in kind of a desperate attempt to hide from the attack.

It was weird though because the feelings just stopped and i remember waking up and sitting up, turning my light on... and looking all around.. but i didnt even react to anything ever happening and i just remember turning on my side and sleeping through the rest of the night. i woke up this morning thinking that it WAS a dream. but i can clearly remember what happened last night and i usually do not recall my dreams and if i do it is very rare. i KNOW something was wrong last night and i did not know how to defend against it. is there ANY advice ANYONE can give me before this "demon" returns and attacks again? i want to feel safe tonight.

P.S. my mom works at a tanning salon down the road. ghosts are attracted to U.V. and light... and my mom believes theres something in the tanner that knocks stuff over and steals money. (her drawer would be short a small change amount.... then the next day it would be over by that exact amount when the store opens) and she said she even saw a visual of this ghost wearing dark hooded clothing.. she said it walked past her when she was standing at the counter and was gone. she didnt think anything of it because she thought someone just came out of the tanning bed. but her co worker said she saw nobody leave the store at that time. so she was really freaked out. but now i feel this thing could have followed her home and is attacking ME because i visit the tanner often so the entity would be able to recognize me. she said its a male entity due to the way it is dressed and its likelyhood of being attatched to a tanning salong due to there being a lot of girls there all the time is high. my mom said there is no history on the building but that does not mean an evil soul could have showed up at that place of buisiness.

im just really freaked out by this situation

I've been having somewhat of the same dreams but it wasn't until now that I actually decided to search the internet about it.
I normally don't dream very clearly, so as far as I know, none of my reoccurring dreams have much in common. It doesn't matter what is going on in my dream, I would just suddenly notice a dark spiritual energy and I would end up on my back with it ontop of me. Unlike everyone else, I never hear anything from it, or see anything from it. It is always completely invisible. I just assume it is a demon. I always struggle with all my strength and try to pray at the same time. I had this dream last night and I was able to lift my arms up to were the invisible body would normally be when pinning someone. I even tried to grab its neck or something but I could not feel anything. At some point I was released at work up scared. This has happened a few times to me, and I have actually been dragged around by the entity which is even worse. I was raised in a religious home but I haven't always been completely dedicated to it.

If you are a Christian, then you needn't worry about this experience, since a soul cannot be inhabited both by Christ and by a demon, as you seem to feel this is a demonic experience. I have heard this story from other people as well, so you are not alone. You need only say the name of Jesus to dispatch the entity. Then when you feel less fearful I would suggest turning on a light and staying awake for a while to dispatch your normal human fear.

On the other hand, this may not be a dream or a demon at all. It may be a condition call sleep paralysis or a type of partial seizure, ( a seizure that nomally does not include convulsions. ) A partial seizure is caused by abnormal neuron activity in the brain and can happen at night. If you are having this often, I suggest that you try to write down your exact PHYSICAL symptoms and feelings. Do you smell or taste anything strange? How long does the fear last? Does the feeling of being held down come in waves or is it a heaviness? At any rate, I believe that you need to write down the best you can what is happening to you and see your doctor for a complete physical. It could be heart or brain related.

This started when I was in my teens right up to womanhood, actually I just had my 'usual' entity dream this morning. Frankly I don't think it discriminates as I have come to known two friends who experience them on the regular basis, one was Catholic and the other non-practicing Bhuddist.

How it began - It merely starts with reoccuring dreams, until I started hearing loud talking in my dreams or deafening ie. sounds of road works outside my window in the dead of night. I was a particularly imaginative kid so I thought I've grown even more stranger than the rest of my friends. Eventually I had experience my first Entity dream (during important exams). It scared me because I could feel hands holding down on me like there was more than one presence in the room. I'd try to call out but nothing came out, I could feel my eyes dart about the room clearly defining ornaments that told me I was awake yet I was powerless. I freaked and told my mum but cos she's a bhuddist, she just said that it's probably a person from my previous life holding onto me. Whatever, I thought, but it was freaky!

University days - Once I moved into the student halls/dorm, I thought my troubles was over as surely, it would never follow me. But it did. The visits became regular and scarier, I could start to see dark figures holding me down, calling out was useless and I saw my mum in my dorm! She was pacing back and forth saying "this place is not right, this place is not right" over and over but she didn't see me. Ofcourse the next day I became withdrawn from my new uni friends and I told my mum afterwards and she agreed to get me to a witch doctor when I visit Thailand next time. I tried to confide in my friends to see if it was common but they looked at me as if I told them an alien had landed.

Too Close for comfort - just when I thought it couldn't get weirder, right after we broke up for summer, I went home. By this time, I had worked out that sleeping on your back made you vulnerable so I tried sleeping on my side. But the entity came, its hands wondered into places it shouldn't and that was it for me, the dream just went to a whole new level! Naturally I told my mother so (since we had distant royalty blood) she thought it could be that I was one of the king's concubine in my last life. Fascinating but not helpful.

Witch doctor - I went and had a consult in Thailand a couple of weeks later and she gave me recipes and rituals to follow. I had to cut my fingers and toes, throw in a few hair strands, my blood, buy a type of fish (something to do with the calendar yr you were born) and release this into the sea with a few prayers, and don't look back. We drove away and for the next 6 months, my dreams were entity free.

Somethings just never change - I'm now a few years short of turning 30 and i still get entity dreams but it doesn't scare me anymore. I don't know when it will come for me but I got a few tips since then on how to counter-act it when it does attack.
1) When pressed down, swear at it (but don't blaspheme the lords name. I'm not christian/catholic but I respect Jesus & God all the same) or tell it to get lost or go away.
2) Turn on the lamp, a bright one. You will get used to sleeping with the lights on.
3) Sleep on your side.

There was this one time, at the lowest point of my emotions that I had welcomed the attack and said in my mind "do what you want, I don't care", that's when I felt it's arms gladly wrap around my waist as if pulling down my soul to merge with their own. It was a type of sinking feeling that scared me so much as if I know I won't wake up from this one, so I shouted at it " I change my mind!".

Outsmarting it - So I've noticed that it likes to pick on you when you are alone in your bed so I tried to be clever and made a bed 'scarecrow' with head, arms and torso etc, it even had a wig to look like a real person. So when the entity came again, I threw my right arm out to grab the puppet hoping that it could be my 'constant' and let me know that waking up is only round the corner but the entity pulled the puppet down the bed and its hair slipped from my fingers. This was like it was telling me that I must have been naiive to think I could fool it. When I woke up, my scarecrow was still in the same place.

Like the previous person said on this post that you grow 'accustomed' to it, I too feel like this entity is a part of me, and that although the experience is less than pleasant, I have in a way accepted it as part of my sleep routine and feel that it's pressure has been less severe than when it first started out. I would like to know what 'they' look like but I guess I would be even more freaked out if it wore a face in possession of expression. Anyway, good luck to you all out there.

this is insane how many people have had this feeling. im going to start off with some bizarre things that happened before the paralysis.

the thoughts are hazy, but i remember as a kid i would wake up in my room terrified, feeling like something was there. i always felt like it was an alien. but i had no problems moving, but then again i always tried to stay as still as possible hoping it would go away, unless my head was out from under the covers, then i would try to cover my face in an attempt to hide. sometime after that when i was older i had fallen asleep in my room, it was freezing so i had a lot of covers, just to wake up upstairs on the couch freezing with no covers. no idea how i could have gotten there. im a light sleeper with zero history of sleep walking. and my basement door isn't the easiest to open and shut, and it would have woken up someone in the house. i can't remember when during my stories it was but i had to sleep in my parents room so my dog could wake me up if he had to use the bathroom. well i woke up to him going nuts and looking at one corner of the room, the light in the room was very dim. i was actually annoyed since he woke me up and i calmed him down enough so he was just whimpering and i fell back asleep. my parents were concerned when i told them and said he's never done that.

the first time the paralysis happened, i was maybe 21 or 22. many years after i got over "the boogyman" phase of being a kid. i woke up completely under my covers and laying on my stomach. i never sleep with my covers past my neck, even when it's freezing. they were way above my head. i didn't just wake up and then feel terrified, i woke up like i had been experiencing it and had snapped out of some trance. i couldn't move, i tried screaming for help but nothing would come out, i could barely breath. the whole time, like before i had slipped into consciousness, i felt as if something horrifying was there in my room. i fell in and out of consciousness several times, just to awake to the exact same thing. i know it wasn't a dream because in my dreams i move freely, never have the exact same thought in a single dream, never feel scared and most importantly i never feel my bed, clothes, covers, my body, my breath, or my heart pounding. but my first reaction the next day was to look it up and "dream meanings" was the topic i found. i dismissed it as just an off the wall intense dream, since others had a similar experience and said it was simply stress. but that wasn't the only time.

the second time i woke up on my back, blankets were in there normal place. this time i simply couldn't move, again i had awaken terrified. but this time i was feeling like there was something right outside of my vision that was keeping me down. i felt like i was paralyzed with fear. again i faded in and out of consciousness several times with the same feeling until i had finally awaken the next morning.

the last time. same as the second. but this time i woke up and thought "there can't be anything there, if there is then i have to see it for myself". i had a 42" flat screen tv right in front of my bed so i fought inch by inch to sit up and slowly i got it. i got some light in my room and looked around. nothing. i don't recall it having happened again after that. all the paralysis experiences happened in the dead of night.

as a side note sometimes im laying in bed, and a few times i think even awakened? by something pressing down on the edge of my mattress. it's an obvious "i haven't moved but my mattress just did" feeling. i don't believe any of this was me at my worse, because when i went through a time where i would cry myself to sleep thinking of my ex; that was the hardest time. it went on and off for a year, but it was before any of that happened. im pretty sure i actually slept better then normal those nights.

im also religious. not the church every sunday or even read more then a few things in the bible kind of christian. but i believe there's a god that loves us and wants us to be decent people. i say the lords prayer every night that i remember too, tried to do the same before the paralysis experiences. i didn't pray during any of this that i can recall to make it go away. i may have before or after it though. iv always been afraid of aliens since i can remember. so im not sure what to think may have caused this. i never saw any of what i felt i was terrified of when i would come in and out of consciousness.

Hi

I have an idea for those who feel they CAN NOT get the words out, while being attacked.

Simply - Instead of forcing the words out of your mouth, think instead, ie say to yourself within your dreams. Sounds weird but if you can tell yourself before you sleep 10 time that you will say the prayer in your mind, then you will not have to try and force it out your mouth in your dreams.

I woke up once in a fright after being very badly damaged emotionally, where i thought i was being watched. I yelled, "What do you want from me?" and saw a figure standing, with Angel wings a glowing aura and an angry look on her face. I sometimes wonder if i was actually dreaming about this Angel and when i awoke all of a sudden, the imprint of that thought/dream was still in my eyes so to speak. Similar to staring at something for awhile then closing your eyes still seeing the imprint on your eyes. Or staring at a bright figment, then turning to a white wall and seeing that figment as if it is on the wall.

Nethertheless, i awoke in a fright and upset. Love is usually what hurts us the most. I now can not love anymore. My life is ruined, i stay alone, with noone (seriously), It seems i am being attacked spiritually for some reason and everything has gone terribly wrong in every part of my life. I feel like the walking dead. I just don't understand though. I am so full of love an joy for people but noone wants to be near me. I just gave up.
