Being Held Down (Spirits Dream)
I have the feeling of a nightmare, as if someone or something is holding me down. I cant move, I do speak sometimes, but I don't get words in return just actions, i guess, the actions either increase as if I'm being held down tighter or with more physical strength, or the grip is lightened, I have this feeling that it is a demon or evil spirit, but no harm is done to me and when I awake I am not scared, often times in my dreams, I will call out Jesus name, or rebuke satan, sometimes this will end the dream other times, it makes it worse; weirdest part is that, I fall asleep, but in the dream exactly where I am is what I'm looking at, kinda like if you fall asleep and in your dream you hear a car horn, and you dream of someone honking at you and telling you to come outside, or of running water and you wet the bed, mine is like that except it is precisely what I see, so when I awake from the dream it feels or seems as if I've done nothing, like I wasn't even dreaming at all, it's hard to define, but I always remember the dream as well... any thoughts??

I have felt this dream many times. I think I was 17 when it first started and I began keeping track of it. Every month on the 2nd and 19th I would dream this dream a 5:30am. I would sometimes get visuals in my mind of what the spirit/demon was trying to tell me. I would be sleeping on my back, vulnerable, when I would start to feel a tingling sensation while also feeling unable to move. I felt pressure on my chest and my arms, sometimes just on my legs but the rest of my body remained limp. I would get visuals of my room, dark, with a small dark figure on top of me, and once he got off I would get a visual of small fiery footprints walking away from my bed. I would be screaming for my mom but no one would hear me. I am always able to awake from dreams I do not want to be having but I can never awake from this until the spirit is satisfied. Now, almost 5 years later, it has started again. How did I get rid of it before. I imagined a glowing white light around my body as if it would protect me. I believed if I thought of God or Christ while falling asleep and when the dream started that it would stop. It did. I am not religious, but I believed what I needed to in order for this dream to stop.

This dream apparently will occur when you are going through something extremely emotional or stressful. I hope this helps...

Same here but just a little different. I think i was 19 at the time while staying the night at a friends house and while i was sleeping he walked into the room which i thought i was up. He stood over me and i could not see his face But just like traces of it like it was changing as he was speaking.

He had a very strong voice speaking in a different language i have never heard. when i tried to get up my whole body was being held down but i could move my fingers and i was able to pinch the sides of my legs to wake up. But i thought i was up never the whole time.

Was very scary and i'm 30 now and still don't really like talking about it.

I literally just woke up from a dream exactly like this & I turned to the internet to see if anyone else in the world was experiencing the same thing. Now, I see that I'm not alone at all. Although it's confronting to know this... it is also a tad bit scary. Ok here's my detailed dream: I'm sleep... I know I'm sleep because I laid my 3 month old son right next to me & I curled up with him & went to sleep. Then, out of no where I feel tied down & a lot of pressure on top of me. See, I've had this dream before normally once or twice a year starting when I hit my teenage years. Now, in the last couple of weeks I've this dream at the least 3 or 4 times! And this isn't a pleasant dream!!! Anyways back to the dream, naturally I started trying to move & I knew that I had to pinch myself or something to get up because I can hear my son & he is wide awake. This terrifies me because what if he starts crying & I cant move! So, I start scratching the mess out of my thigh trying to get up... didn't work. The presence in the room (the demon) was in full force this time. Like everybody else in their dreams I'm calling on Jesus and I'm rebuking Satan at the top of my lungs but this seemed to mad the demon even madder. Somehow I heard the presence open my bedroom door (we were sleeping in the living room) and run to the living room. I thinking in my head this part is new. This next part is the part that reduced me to tears.... My son was making was cooing & all of a sudden after the presence came out of the back room he stopped... and somehow I knew what was happening... the presence was now messing with my son because even though I couldn't move... some of the pressure had lifted off of me & I was wondering where it had gone... and my guess was my son. So, after my son stopped cooing I got extremely pissed off & started yelling for Satan to go away & I guess the intensity & love I was feeling for my son was so strong that I was able to scare him away finally! And when I awoke my son sure enough was up & looking up at me with the strangest look. I am now scared to go back to sleep because I REALLY don't want to go thru this again. By the way, his father is at work so I don't have anyone here to console me & I'm super scared. I said the Lord's Prayer throughout the house but my heart is still racing with fear. Someone said this dream is caused from stressed & that could be very true! If there was ever a time that I was stressed it would be now! And also even though I am a Christian woman & was raised with a very strict Christian background... lately I have not being going to church for veriest reasons but God is in my heart 100% and I haven't forgotten about him at all. Even though I haven't been in awhile I still do give God praise. How do I get rid of this awful dream?

Hi ....I can relate to your dream. Mine was very similar and it started when I was about 17 years old. Being held down and evil spirits trying to get into my body. I rebuke them the same way by praying the 'Our Father' and they left but very slowly. These dreams started when I started playing with tarot card and see clairevoyants. These things do give you information however they open your life up for evil to enter. I am now 41. When I was 26 I became a born again Christian. This has happened since however the spirit now flee at the name of Jesus. I feel that the Lord is the one honking the horn of the vehicle. Biblically vehicle are significant they convey you somewhere. The Lord wants you to go outside and he will take you where you need to go. Dreams are God's parable language at night and they are full of symbols. Water in your dream is significant of the Holy Spirit. I would ask how your relationship is with your Creator?

Hi all,
Somthing verry strange once happened to me when i was about 13 or 14,we moved to a,rented house wile we were looking to buy are own house, first off taps would turn on by themselfs, toilet would flush on its own, pigeons would be found in the bathroom only by my mother, and my bedroom was cold even in the summer, but what happened to me was insane.

I went to bed one night, but not in my room as i was too scared of somthing i couldn't explain, like a force always watching,my brother said it was ok to sleep in his room and got up to go to the toilet,i climed into bed and shut my eyes, all of a sudden a force lifted me up moved me to the side of the bed and lowered me to the floor were somthing started to crush my chest and growl GRRRRRrrrrrrr louder and louder snarling into my face,it looked black and misty, and it felt like pure evil,i haven't felt anything as bad as that in all my life, because i couldn't move,i got mad and shouted with a explosive burst "get the **** off me",just that moment it was all over and i was in bed just how i was,i was crying and felt so helpless left with a overwhelming feeling i had never felt before.
it felt like it went on for about ten mins, but my brother was coming back to the room and had only been away for about 2 mins,he asked what was up with me,so i told him and he was shocked and didnt know to believe me or not.
I was not asleep during this experience,i was awake and well aware of everything going on,i was just as awake as i am writing this message, and i know %100 that somthing is happening that canot be fully explained!!
Also twice in one week i had came back from school looked througth the living room window and seen my brother sitting on the couch watching tv,the first time he waved at me,the seconed time he just watched me walk up the drive, both times i entered the house nobody was there, the seat wasn't warm, and the tv hadn't been turned on,first time i serched the house, the second time i ran out the house and waited 2 hours in the rain untill my parents came home.
these experiences have nothing to do with sleep symptoms and nothing else has happened to me since we moved away, how is it so many ppl as i have reserched have this thing holding them down trying to harm them??
if it nas a dream, the dreams would not be so similar all over the world,it would be impossible for everyone to have the same sort of dream.

Hi me again. I've just read your profile which indicates you are a Christian. My suggestion to you would to study Esp 6:, 'as we battle no against flesh and blood' and books of spiritual warfare.

The same thing has been happening to me since I was 14. I don't believe that a prayer can make things better. I know better, but one of the times I had this nightmare my St. Christopher pendant, that is always on, just fell off in my sleep. I've had it on for years. It hasn't fallen off since, but I had the dream again yesterday. This time I was levitating and gasping for breath. I wasn't dreaming at that point! What is this?
