Nightmare Dream -- Woke My Hubby As I Screamed | Storms Dream Interpretations
Dreams can provide insight into our deepest thoughts. Using dream interpretation to explore dream symbols and uncover a dream's meaning can lead to a better understanding of ourselves.
My husband woke me up last night as I was screaming--softy--more like a moan, but loud enough to wake him . . .
In the dream it was night and rain was pouring straight down like a monsoon--no wind, lightening, or thunder, just straight down rain. The room in this house I was in had double doors leading to the outside. They were both standing wide open and the man who I felt was my father was scolding me for leaving the door open, the woman who I felt was supposed to be my mother was in the room, but I couldn't see her and she also chided me about the door . . .
I was kind of ticked off, because I knew that I HAD the doors closed and locked. I had a little anxiety about them standing open and wondered if there were other outer doors standing open on this rainy night . . .
Just outside the door I saw the base of house telephone--it was a very large phone base like we on secure "top secret" line phones in the Army. The receiver was not on the base and I picked it up and brought it in out of the rain. (Since I was a kid, there is always a "problem" of some kind with telephones when they appear in my dreams.)
After bringing in the telephone, I was still in the room with the "parents" who gave me a vibe of the parents of the brady bunch--even though I didn't get a good look at either of them. I did see the father from an angle, though. As I was standing near the father and wondering to myself how those double doors got open, all of a sudden (like a flash bulb)--a face appeared like an apparition. It was a boy of about 15 years old, with shortish dark brown hair and pale, clear skin on an oval shaped face. I would know him again if I ever saw him!!
The apparition of the boy was so sudden and disconcerting as he was staring directly at me, and I "knew" that he was responsible for the doors being open. The apparition was so fleeting, but that was the moment of the dream that made me scream. I woke with my husband shaking me and my mouth was so dry from terror!
Great dream. This level of detail suggests that your subconscious is getting near to identifyint the important issues in you life. My interpretation: House represents mind and sometimes very graphically can actuall represent head. double door wide open says to me eyes wide open. You are looking directly at a problem that some may choose not to see so directly. Sometimes our family in dreams represent aspects of ourselves, but other times they represent themselves - or things that they represent to you. I would suggest the latter is the case here, and therefore my interpretation is that you are looking with open eyes at some emotional (rain) issue, which your father was also confronted with, but he chose to ignore or diminish the importance/cause of this problem when it was in his life (could be the same issue that you and your dad both face now, or an issue in your life that mirrors a similar issue in his past). I would also suggest that if your subconscious has got this far htere is no escape for you! You cannot now chose to take your father's advice and ignore/diminish this issue, as you will always be conscious that that is what you did and will therefore live with regret...Whatever it is, remember that change is only scary because we don't know what to expect. We are living in times where old norms no longer resonate with truth and we are all being forced to experiment to find a deeper truth:)
