Dreams can provide insight into our deepest thoughts. Using dream interpretation to explore dream symbols and uncover a dream's meaning can lead to a better understanding of ourselves.
| Two night ago, I dreamed that I was walking up behind a house. There was a sidewalk that led to the back of that house, and then around it and away. Anyway, I was walking and as I came up to the back of the house, there was a woman with a white cloth over her head, like a long scarf or something. She was holding something like a sheet, of white color, with two baby daughters inside. They looked like they were just scrunched together, but they were actually conjoined twins, attached by one arm.
I think something distracted me, because I looked away. When I looked back, I saw that there was blood all down the sheet, and one child was missing. Somehow I knew that the blood came from a separation. It wasn't done the way we do it in the US. I felt as though their father separated them, and that's why there was blood. The child she was still holding seemed fine, but the other one was missing. For some reason, I had a feeling that the mother felt all along, that she couldn't handle two children, and she took the opportunity the separation offered her, to take the life from one. I was very distraught, and I looked into the mother's eyes to see if I could find the answer, but she kept a straight face, so I could not. Then the father came up. He asked her where his other daughter was. She lied and said with all the calmness, that she was holding both of them, and the other one must have slipped under the sheet. He walked away, but when he came back, he saw she still was not out in the open. He asked her again. She stayed calm and stood tall and still and said something to the effect of "she is here".
He and I both went running, looking frantically about the shrubbery in the yard, or anywhere in which a person could dump a child's body. We were distraught, and at the knowing, that we simply could not find her, I was beside myself. I figured the time was closing in. She needed food and care for the separation wound, and she probably would not be alive much longer, but we searched and simply could not locate her. The mother stayed calm with a straight face, and gave no answers. Beside myself, I began to walk continue down the path to leave. It had grown dark out, and the crickets were making their soft noise. As I walked down the path to continue on, past their house, when for some reason I turned one last time. There, in the front of the house, was the child. The house had a porch area, and where the porch steps would be, there was an open space with flat dirt underneath. There on the dirt, was this child. I was saddened, as I knew her mother must have hid her under there to let her die. I ran over, and much to my surprise, she was sitting up on her own, in the middle of the ground.
She was just a little thing. As I grew closer, I noticed her eyes seemed so old; distant... saddened. As I looked passed her eyes, I could feel all of her sadness and hear her thoughts. I stood there for a moment and just listened to her story. With her eyes, she told me that she was born together with her sister, attached. And that she became separated. I felt so much sadness radiating from her. She continued to tell me with her eyes, that she no longer shares an arm with her sister. In fact, her sister has two arms now, and she has only one. She looked so sad, at the stub that used to be the shared arm, and her eyes welled up with tears. She said that it's okay, and that her sister can have her arm. That she loves her sister, and she wants to give it to her. So much sadness. My eyes were welling with tears. As I began wondering who had put her here and why, she looked at me. Again with the eyes, she told me that she climbed or crawled out of her mother's arms, and came under here. She said that with the wound still open, and being a baby, she needed food and care; she knew that if she hid out here long enough, her body would die on its own. That's what she wanted. She came here on her own, so that she could just die. The hurt in her eyes was unbearable to me, and I moved closer, and pleaded with her out loud, saying "No, you don't have to do this! Please!". But she her eyes were so cold and distant and saddened. As if she had lived a thousand sad lives, and she was giving up on it all. I looked up, wondering if the mother or father heard me. Wondering if anyone was coming, and knowing that time was running out. |
