I drempt i lived in the mountains, i lived in a log cabin in the valley. Spacious meadows as far as the eye could see. One day i went hunting for deer, when i was approached by a pack of wolves. One by one they checked me out, their teeth inches away from me. I starred at the ground, i refused to make eye contact. I though i was a meal ticket for sure, but they ceased and left. The next day i found the leader of the pack on my door step, he had been chewed to pieces, barely alive. He needed my help, and i wanted to be part of their pack. Our eyes met, i seen his pain and his need. I washed out his wounds with alcohol and warm water. I knew he was in such pain, i tied his snout shut with a belt. I began feeding him whiskey to help with the pain and put him to sleep. With the threads off a blanket i made a suture, and stitched him from head to toe. I applied antibiotic ointment and bandaged his stitches. That night from a droppler i fed him broth and water. To my amazement a bond was being established one i had never seen before. as i was getting ready for bed i noticed that his pack was patiently waiting out side my window. It was almost like they were saying thank you in an animal way. Day after day i nourished his body and cleaned his wounds. I prayed each night that god would make him well. One after noon i left half a sandwich on the table to find it gone. I was shocked to find that the leader was eating it, which was a good sign. God answered my prayers. He beat the odds and rejoined his pack, each one licking my hands frantically. With tears in my eyes to a dear friend, i said goodbye. As he walked away he kept looking back with a deep concern. I kept saying its okay go on my friend. Not only was i accepted in this pack but i was one of them.
People would see me playing with a pack of wolves weighing 400 pounds or more, in a pack of 50. They thought i was crazy being so close to them. To me it was heaven, they soon became my protectors and my allies. A dream i'll never forget!
