Why on earth has it taken a black president to finally bring forth all the support of the black race? The percentage of black votes this election supersedes any known in our past history. What does this say about the black race? So far this speach is a good one, and I expected nothing less because the President is an eloquent speaker. I hope this President will not falter to pressure, and during the entire length of his term carry out all those aspiring promises he has made. The black race, especially, look upon him as a "Savior" of sorts, and they as well as every other citizen, regardless of color, creed, or ethnicity are counting on this man to carry out his promises. The problem is, as he states repeatedly, we all have to do our part!!

Only after my 76 year old mother questioned a reference to Obama's father, "...my father's small village", did I go back and review his speech on CNN's site. Why didn't he mention his mother or any reference to "mother" (only parents)? As that aspect of his past nutured life, raised only by his mother and grandmother, was a very important and inspirational story while campaining the last 2 years. Our very roots needed to be recognized in this speech.

This wonderful quartet by professional musicians was a great group who played in the inauguration. The music is solemn but optimistic as it preludes what President Obama's speech to his tone and attitude which is serious but optimistic if we all work together as a nation. May God Bless him while in his office in this nation. I have been waiting for a President like him for the past 25 years I've been here. Thank you God for my prayers.
