To me, mass gestures are as annoying as the mass greeting cards. They are too impersonal and too generic to even bother to acknowledge them.
A simple, Hi, How are you ? inpires me more than dozens of mass greetings ever would.

I really dislike them, myself. I tend to get very busy at times on EP, and if the computer slows down or EP slows down it can take ages to get to the gestures and then back out again so it annoys me when it's not a gesture to me...

I do tend to forget to respond to them.... Because it doesn't feel like a personal greeting. And I do get personal gestures from my other EPeeps, so I tend to answer them first. Then I just forget to answer the mass ones. :-/
