Two of the best book shops I have been to are in Australia. They are not your regular bookshop either. One is in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains in NSW and the other is in Albany in the South West of Australia.

"Mr Pickwicks" is the one in Katoomba, its chokers full of rare books and mags and has an old world charm about it.Nestled in amongst the book shelves are big comfy sofas where you are welcome to curl up and read to your hearts content.(you can buy too if you wish, they have a lot of first editions)There are heaters placed near the sofa areas so its always snug and warm.(it gets very cold up in the mountains here)

The one in Albany is a "Cafe" bookshop where you can get coffee and cake and are welcome to read the books and relax in the warm quiet atmosphere  and watch the ocean if you wish.

My mood: very happy

My favorite book store is WHSmith cause i've been going to that bookstore for years and it's never let me down when I'm looking for a good book!

My favorite is John K. King books in downtown Detroit (the one near/in Royal Oak is nice, too. Old fat cat and dim lighting). I believe it is Michigan's largest used book store.

It is housed in an old industrial building of some sort, which is many stories high. I lack the powers of description which I need right now. Just believe me that it is a wonder to behold. I have spent many days of my life digging around for things. The staff is usually wonderful, and the prices are pretty alright.
