A stranger came to my rescue!

I was on a long drive between towns when a man in another car started harassing me. Over the next 25 or 30 miles he was driving very close next to my car, side by side, but he wouldn't pull ahead of me or allow me to get any space between us no matter much I slowed down or spead...

This past summer, there was a day

where the weather seriously was like the cold from a heavily-snowed winter. It was a major shock to many. I was enjoying being awake during the day and so I had made plans to get out. The mall otherwise known as Tyson's Corner is the only public venue I have gotten familiar with...

Today I stopped at a convenient store to buy a

polar pop. There were two guys getting sodas in front of me, so I waited for them to do their thing before proceeding to do my own. When I went to pay for my soda the cashier told me that the guys before me had already paid for mine! Sure, it's less than a dollar, but it...

Random acts of kindness are truly treasured by

both the person who chooses to be randomly kind and the recipient. The size of the kind act is not important because the fact that it happens out the blue so to speak is like a gift in itself. Both parties are more likely to remember such a thing. You don't need a reason to...

I one time went to a Red Lobster restaurant in

Maryland before I went to my doctor's appointment. My mom was parking the car and she had pointed out some picturesque things that were where Red Lobster was since it was a bit of a walk away and I cannot navigate directions too good. I tried to open the door. It was a thick...

I want to give. I am looking

for amazing people to share a short story with. I shared it with my friends, then I started looking for people who appreciate the hard copy and genuine appreciation for 1930s era literature. I could just randomly starts mailing the story to people I don't know but are they "true...

A language which the dumb can speak,

and the deaf can understand. It speaks well for the native kindness of our hearts, that nothing gives us greater gleasure than to feel that we are conferring it.

I think someone randomly doing anything nice

for me no matter how small the act can literally turn around my entire day no matter how bad of a mood I was in before a random act of kindness puts me in a good mood.

"Hey man, do you need a hand?

It looks like you've got a lot on your plate." I can't relate, but I've had my share of rainy days. You could use an empathetic face. "Hey madam, need a ride? Going down that road anyways. Streets aren't safe." I'll get my reimbursement by the expressions and the emotions...

This will sound insignificant & maybe silly

I am a kind woman and female.

I love helping my family and friends when I can. I have helped strangers as well. There is a huge blessing when one helps others in need. What goes around will come around to your door step.

Recently I had some repairs done to my car.

While I was in the repair shop a gentleman came in with his daughter to have something fixed on his car. The shop quoted him a price and he said he couldn't afford it. He shook his head sadly and left with his daughter. I sat there thinking I could help but for some reason I was...

    I am a very self-absorbed person.

It's a defense mechanism brought on by years of trauma. I rarely leave my home. Yet, when I do, I see a different side of myself. I smile and talk to everyone. I had to drive though a bad part of town to visit my doctor, so I stopped at the brightest-lit station I could find...

Sometimes it's easy to feel bitter,

A guy in a cafe today gave me one of his scones

for letting him share my table. The table was as much his as it was anyone else's, but he still decided to be generous. I don't turn down favours like that. As my grandma would say, 'Deeyan vare jo hath kon motaibo ahe' -- 'Never reject someone who is offering a genuine...

    Sometimes I try to pay

for the person behind me at fast food drive-thru's when I have extra money. It's funny sometimes because some people nearly chase me down NOT to accept it. Most do, but some people can't handle getting something for nothing!
