    Escape

I've often used books to escape the cruelty of life. Its a way to get away from everything I hate, a way to be someone else. I'm an empathetic person and it really makes me get involved in stories. My favourite book is Green Heart, because I connected so much to the main...

I love meeting new people because I like to listen to their story. I find people all have a story and I want to know it. I like to write very much and each person I meet is like a new inspiration for me. I like to weave stories and think about the past... because its a part of...

    Well I study literature

so I kinda have to? You would find anything in my little 'library'. Goethe, Schiller, Kleist and all these famous (boring) german authors. Favourite book yet is 'Cloud Atlas' by David Mitchell. I'm also a huge fan of Ray Bradbruy :3

    I Do Like My Books...

I even like looking at books sitting on a shelf, or packed in a box, or a bag.ย  I get a mini-buzz just seeing them sitting there, waiting for my attention. ย  I don't know, there is something satisfying about seeing your collection of books grow and all the empty space on the...

    Words

Words are my thing, my life. I can't get enough of them. I collect books, and people think it's strange. I've started a little library in my basement, and I've collected around three hundred books so far. I love spending dreary days reading them over and over again. People think...

    I really got into reading

as a teenager, and always have a book that I am reading now. I really enjoy reading alot in the winter time, when it is too cold to go outside. My favorite author is Terry Brooks, and some of his books I have read numerous times. I also enjoy reading Anne McCaffrey, and Piers...

    Books are an investment.

Reading is a good exercise of the intellect. I read for school, I read for pleasure.

Books have stood the tests of time.

Reading is to exercise the mind and the spirit. Combine the two whoever you can and grow as a human.

    I'm a slow reader though.

. I love profound articulate words.. to go back to the line before an interesting line just to inhale the anticipation of meeting the interesting line and repeat it until the words sink in my heart is the reason why I am such a slow reader.. oh but I won't pour myself in a book...

    J.G. Ballard

I have just heard that J.G. Ballard has died. A unique writer, whose like we rarely see. I would like to think there would be proper and fitting tributes to him on terrestrial t.v., but I'm not holding my breath. Mizzen123

I have always loved books and reading, right from a young age. I have a massive collection of books and some of my favourites have been read over and over again. I love the escapism of a really good story. It transports you into another world. I am usually reading 2-3 books at...

    "i Cannot Live Without Books."

I believe the above quote is from Thomas Jefferson and such is the case with me. To me, books represent knowledge and, thus, I cannot understand why anyone doesn't like to read.

The burning of a book is a sad,

sad sight, for even though a book is nothing but ink and paper, it feels as if the ideas contained in the book are disappearing as the pages turn to ashes and the cover and binding--which is the term for the stitching and glue that holds the pages together--blacken and curl as...
