I Adore Books and Reading

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 2,183 People

    I literally read a book a week.

I sound so crazy! But I absolutely love reading. Also, if you've never heard of it try out goodreads.com, it is an excellent site to help find new books and honest reviews!

If you're in to fantasy (not the erotic type)

go read some of Brent Weeks' and Patrick Rothfuss' stuff. I can assure you they are brilliant authors.

    Escape

I've often used books to escape the cruelty of life. Its a way to get away from everything I hate, a way to be someone else. I'm an empathetic person and it really makes me get involved in stories. My favourite book is Green Heart, because I connected so much to the main...

    I Do Like My Books...

I even like looking at books sitting on a shelf, or packed in a box, or a bag.  I get a mini-buzz just seeing them sitting there, waiting for my attention.   I don't know, there is something satisfying about seeing your collection of books grow and all the empty space on the...

    My collection of books got

so big that, my fiance made me stop bringing them home. I love anything from James F Cooper to Richard Matheson. Some people will tell me that print is dead, and to get with the 21st century, but I refuse to accept that.

To choose a book in my own private library,

to curl up with it without being disturbed by other persons and to forget the reality completely while reading - I like that. :-)

Stephen King is the ultimate king of all horror

and I LOVE him!! But lately I'm very interested in Shakespeare and his words swim within my soul and creates emotions that can't be explained in words. I also bought myself an Oscars Wilde book. I love his quotes... but I basically read almost anything.

    I've loved reading ever

since I was a kid. Terry Goodkind used to be my favorite author, but his work seems a little forced now. I'm the type of person who has to take my Nook with me whenever I travel so I can read my latest purchase.

    Well I study literature

so I kinda have to? You would find anything in my little 'library'. Goethe, Schiller, Kleist and all these famous (boring) german authors. Favourite book yet is 'Cloud Atlas' by David Mitchell. I'm also a huge fan of Ray Bradbruy :3

I love to just escape reality with a great book.

You can go anywhere and be anyone , from a brave warrior to a damsel in distress. You can battle terrible monsters on an exciting quest and you don't even have to leave your house. Books give excitement and wonder to my full monotone life and for that I'm extremely grateful to...

The burning of a book is a sad,

sad sight, for even though a book is nothing but ink and paper, it feels as if the ideas contained in the book are disappearing as the pages turn to ashes and the cover and binding--which is the term for the stitching and glue that holds the pages together--blacken and curl as...
