Why We Are The Way We Are

New Yorkers have the reputation of being rude.I think that people in New York are not necessarily rude, but they just mind their own business and are in a hurry.  For instance, right now you can't even walk down Fifth Avenue because there are SO MANY tourists. I work on...

    Born And Raised New Yorker

The New York State of Mind One of the most unique aspects of New York, more striking than even the most spectacular monument or the grandest skyscraper, is the attitude of the people who live there.  When you first experience it, the New York attitude can seem rude but, if you...

They Say Don't Mess With Texas, Ha! WELL,.... Don't Fvck With New York!

Lewis Black Anti-Texas Ad - Response to Rick Perry Governor Rick Perry likes to brag about his jobs record, despite the fact that most of the “jobs” he create don’t even pay a living wage, and his despicable vetoing of an equal pay law for women. He also likes to make...

Why New York Is Better Than Texas

What makes NY better than TX to me? Tampons are allowed into our state capitol while guns are not.  Remember, guns kill people, tampons don’t. We don’t proclaim to be “pro-life” and then execute people (Perry recently presided over the state’s 500th execution...

    Yum, breakfast this morning.

This displaced NYer was in taste bud heaven.  A couple of 'everything' bagels that the rest of the country tries and fails to imitate..'Real' NY Bagels not Wannabe NY Bagels, shaped like a bagel with the texture of a wonderbread roll...nope these are the real thing. I miss New...

I like New Yorkers because they're usually

direct and honest. They don't waste your time by sugar coating any issue. I live in Texas and everyone is so nice here. But what takes 20 minutes in Texas takes 5 minutes in New York because New Yorkers just get to the point much faster.

New Yorkers Aren't Rude. You Are, (but it's not what you think from this title ;)

And I mean that title with the utmost of respect. I've been a denizen of this fair(ly crappy) city my entire life, in one way or another. I spent some time in LA during college, but don't worry, I got over it. The one thing, though, that I've consistently heard from around...

Born and Raised New Yorker Who Had To Become Bi-coastal.

I'm a Native New Yorker who relocated to Los Angeles in the mid 1980's with that, I am now what is called 'Bi Coastal'. Came across this story by someone else, who's also had my experience. The move and the culture shock is so traumatic that it pays to laugh it off while you...
