I Am a Browncoat

    Wash, Tell Me I'm Pretty.

Since watching the first episode online (I'll admit, way after the show was off-air) I have loved this show. I went out and immediately scoured every video store in the area hunting for the boxed set. Then I bought the film. Its very rare for me to like a television show, period...

I was working at a new job a few weeks ago when a girl said to the world in general "uhh, I don't feel too shiny"... one of the great things about cult shows/ films is when they introduce words and expressions to the language that make fans stand out like a sore thumb...

    Im a browncoat, not only

for my love and support of firefly. But I also very much believe and agree with what the broncoats fought the alliance for and the meanings behind the messages on the show.

    I'm Just Shiny!

This is how I describe my state of emotions now. lol. When I'm feeling good, okay, and just plain cool, I'm "shiny". For those who don't know, this a term from the show, "Firefly" by Joss Whedon, one of the best shows that was on television! It's...

    Darn...was Hoping

I was inthralled, (maybe that's a bit strong) but I enjoyed Firefly a lot. And when the rumor went about that after the movie the show would be picked up by a different network. I was all about it. But then the movie...They killed off Wash and the Shepherd. No...not bringing it...

The Writing Was On The Wall

My best friend and I had been anticipating Firefly since we saw the first teaser commercials.  As fans of sci-fi short fiction, we were not too put off by the (seeming) lack of back story; in short fiction you are dropped right into the middle of the action, and the...

We Have Done the Impossible, and That Makes Us Mighty

I love Firely! I'm kind of a late-comer to the Browncoat society, but I'm here now! I can't imagine having never seen the awesomeness of this show.

    Goofy Scifi

It's not the sci-fi, space opera, interstellar cowboy thing that works. What works is the story itself; Joss Whedon based it on the story of men scraping together a living after the American Civil War. That kind of thing lends context, realism, and something familiar. I loved...

You All Know What I Felt.

I never even knew Firefly was on. Lack of advertising blew this all to hell for the best show ever on tv. I found out a couple years later from a friend of mine in australia who sent me the dvd set. After the last episode...I was angry, and I cried. I admit it. I wanted to...

    It Took Me a While

When Buffy finished I started watching Angel after that I moved on to Firefly/Serenity & I'm Glad I did. I love the way the show combines my favorite genres Scifi, Westerns, Drama & Comedy. And with my interest in firearms I love the mix of six-guns/Winchesters...

Something Like "Sometimes the Winning Side Is Not the Best Side..."

And sweet Kaylee, and the Pax, and the River Tam Sessions, and (the real concept of ) Terraforming - but then the Signal can't be stopped...   And yet, It's only just a TV show and a film.  And there have been better, and worse, but why did this one fall into place for me and...
