I grew up as a Baptist.

My family and friends, are Independent, Fundamentalist Baptists. Over my life, my friends and family have had limited contact with Catholics. I told my parents. They're the only ones that know, other than my girlfriend and her mom. Officially, I haven't made up my mind...

    Well, not yet anyhow.

I am going thru RCIA and cant learn fast enough. I am ready to join the parish and cant wait. I have run into a stumbling block though. My husband and I were married in a civil ceremony almost 18 years ago and he refuses to have the marriage convalidated.
