Got a set of £700 global knives I love more

than most people, they are my prised possession and feel lost with out them when I'm in the kitchen... I also left them on the backseat of my car over night and most of today as it is my day off... Luckily they were still there when I realised what I had done with them

    Always was always will be.

Even at the young age of 9 or 10 I liked to cook, and for several reasons. I am the oldest of four kids. Two brothers, identical twins 2 years younger and a sister 6 years younger. So it was a way to help out around the house and I got meals I wanted and the way I liked them...

    Disaster

I was watching Hell's Kitchen. It usually gives me flashbacks to a certain day.   I was working at a restaurant in Lansing, the capitol city of Michigan. Every year there is a special parade, I can't remember the exact occasion now, might have been during riverfest. On that...

    Clarified Stock

I read a Marco Pierre White quote which said that he isn't a chef because you can only call yourself that if you're currently working in a commercial kitchen. Is that fair? [Not my favourite chef. I wouldn't mind meeting Raymond Blanc though]. - Vivas

Yes this is just one of the many jobs I have in

my house. I am not all that great at it but mostly because I don't have the time or patience to stand in front of the counter and stove cooking. Once in a while I don't mind but otherwise I usually like to keep it fairly simple.

    I have cooked professionally

for about 7 years now. I have such mixed views about this profession as it has so many good and bad qualities. I love what I do and I'm good at what I do but the money never backs up how hard I have to work. I recently got my first full time sauté position and I love it besides...

as it would be for most restaurants. I have made up my mind to wear shorts on line because it's really hot here. I never wear shorts on line and being the sous chef and the youngest worker at the place I thinks I should try so some of the other cooks might wear shorts with their...

I am 19 and a sous chef formerly was a pastry chef and a line cook it started baking in a coffee shop when I was 16. Somewhere else offered me a job as sous chef just down the block. The money is a little better but would this slow my progress to become a head chef?
