    At Heart, Always!

We moved from Melbourne (in Aus) to Canberra at the end of 2003, and i must admit it was HORRIBLE at first. canberra was so different - everyone relies on the bus service, the shops close earlier, everything is more expensive and you can see COWS/HORSES on the way to school/the...

I've lived in 4 major cities in the world!

New York is one I long to conquer. I've only lived out of the city for a little bit over a year now. My first nights here were sooo quiet, I could hear my footsteps on the carpet! I was actually more scared in this boring town than Atlantic City (the Las Vegas of the East Coast...

    My "Corner Gas" Experience

I have never lived in a small town, and I'm not sure I ever could. I have always lived in the city. The smallest city I ever lived in was 40,000 people at the time, but I've spent most of my life in cities that are between 200,000 and over a million people. I know no other life...

Maybe its because I associate toronto with trips with my mom as a kid, but there is something about toronto I love. It's the imtensity I guess. Everything is at such a fast pace. The cultural aspect helps (ok it's not nyc, but still not bad). I have to go in for a class every...

    City Girl. There was

once a certain city girl. She used to buy local teen magazines. She admired gorgeous people. Amazed at those busy yet seemingly strong people in business suits Or formal attire. Amazed at those shining streetlights during nighttime. Amazed at those tall and beautiful buildings...

I Am A City Girl At Heart

I was not born and raised in the city but I am such a city girl at heart. I lived on a ranch with cows and horses from the time I was born until I was about 12 or 13. We moved out of the country but only to a very small town. I felt like I was in the city because schools were in...

I love the city. Always did.

I love hearing the cars outside, people talking , the "life". I think it's reassuring. The country side worries me. It's too quiet.

    Going Home

I was a city girl growing up, and have been stuck in rural Appalachia since getting married. Now that the marriage is ending, I am planning to get to go HOME. Back to the 100,000+ seat football stadium and the all-night cafes and coffee shops. Back to the music festivals...

    My City

I love my city.  Or cities, rather.  I grew up in New York City and also lived in DC for a few years.  Even when life would get tough, I wouldn't trade living in these cities for living anywhere else.

21+ years. IF I don't hear cars passing by while I'm trying to sleep it becomes eerie.

    Carrie And The City

I was born in a big city and I have lived here for 35 years. I can hardly imagine I could live in a small town. Yes, I admire nature, singing birds or watching swift squirrels jumping from one tree to another but you can find them in my city too. When I was a child my parents...

Give me the city any day. I am a city girl and I love convenience. Slow traffic is what gets to me. Cities are fast paced and when the traffic no longer follows suit, that is when people start to get agitated, at least me personally. I feel there is too much solitude in the...
