My Brothers walk closely by me.

The years separating us are mere seconds as we recount those days spent together in fear and terror; in joyful exhilaration. Comrades. And we think of those not with us; fallen. Laughing in remembrance at the way they were; what they might have been. I thank all veterans...

I am currently in a dilemma,

to go or stay...No I do not mean suicide, although it does not mean that it didn't cross my mind once or twice. Do I consider myself normal, well the better questions is what is normal, how do you delineate normal from abnormal nowadays.

The most difficult part of being a veteran (in

my opinion), is knowing that it's over and I can never go back to doing what I loved doing the most. I miss it more than anything, my most hated and treasured memories.

I stumbled across this group tonight. Its almost as if by design that I found it. You see in late 2003 I deployed to Iraq and stayed in country until 2005. What I brought home was just something I thought was mine alone, but some of your stories have inspired me to write one of...

The first man I loved never slept.

He would hold his dreams at arms length until the sun came up and it was safe to briefly shut his eyes. He was very quiet. When we were together, we would breathe the silence between us. Sometimes the complete lack of sound was too much for me, and I was frustrated: say...
