Don't you think they go in hand?

When the person has a brain,I mean.Every day they are feeding us with images that tell us how romance is supposed to look like: Conventionally attractive and moderately rich white people find a marriage partner,,,,Boohoo how romantic! Well, there is also the possibility...

    I Want Romance But.....

I guess it would be accurate to say that I want to experience love in all its intensity and passion. But that understanding of how tenuous love is has saved me from much disappointment. These days, I can just pack my disappointment into a little kit bag that I can tie to end of a...

I Think And Believe That I Am A Cynical Romantic

I know I am very young for a thing called love. But, when I was younger, I had always hoped for some form of romance and relationship with a guy, just like most kids/teens do nowadays. However, I was stuck in my own world, believing that there was a knight in shining armor who...

    As If She'd Ever...

Over the past summer (2010) my first and so far only girlfriend dumped me after just 3 days of officially dating, saying that she just "never had those feelings for me." During that short time, I was CONVINCED that it would last. Because of that I was left feeling that no matter...

    Hopeful, Yet Cynical

I'm 46, have been through a lot of goofy 'relationships.' A part of me is hopeful, part of me says"So&*&* what?' Either I do something dumb, or I get screwed... and not in the good way!

Good Book to Read On This Topic

I have been recently reading a book on this topic.. it's Why We Love: The Nature and Chemistry of Romantic Love by Helen Fisher. quite interesting theories on why we love and the evolution of human bonding.. but it adds onto my cynical views on love after reading it too. :(

I Want That Fairy Tale Romance, But I Know I Won't Get It.

I want a man to sweep me off my feet. Open the car door for me. Call me darling. Tell me every day how much I mean to him. I also know that I will never find that. Nobody can be trusted. I have been hurt far too many times to think I will find this. Everybody is terrible. Not...
