I Am a Diabetic On An Insulin Pump

A PLACE WHERE WE CAN TALK ABOUT OUR EXPERIENCES ON THE INSULIN PUMP 48 People

I wish more of us were online.

I am a diabetic and I have had a pump for nearly four years. It has made a big difference. My long term blood glucose, Hb1ac, (I think!) is now normal again. A pump is a lot of work. You have to tell it how much carbs your going to eat and you need to get the scales out for that...

I am a type 1 diabetic with an insulin pump.

The pump has been really great. I had it over three years. It's really good. But it's annoying cos it's under your clothes. And you can't look normal. Today I ordered a bra pouch. You hook the pump onto your bra. And it hangs down your side. I hope it will be less obvious. It's...

When I was a very little kid I found out

that I have type one diabetes. It means that my pancreas wasn't working and I didn't produce any insulin. Insulin controls blood glucose. I had to have insulin injections and test my blood glucose many times a day. And try to calculate how much carbs to eat. By age five I was...

This is perhaps the most important story.

To keep in 2016. I have been diabetic since I was a kid. At first I had to inject insulin four times a day. Now I have a pump. It pumps in little bits of insulin every three minutes. When I eat I tell it how much carb plus if I'm going to exercise and a few other things and it...

for nearly four years. I get a new one in June. I have been diabetic since I was little. The pump has been great. It's taken quite a lot of fiddling! I hope I won't have to relearn too much in June.

I Am a Diabetic On An Insulin Pump and Have I Got a Story For You

Today my insulin pump (medtronic) asked me to do my blood sugar alot. During my class today, the sensor (paradigm) decided to end, so it beeped. I knew that if I ignored it, it would beep more and louder because it does that after a while when I'm in the shower and not near the...
