Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 275 People

Have been in several garage bands,

but they always break apart cause of the lead singer/guitar player being a ****. This that common or is it just me being unlucky or what?

    Started At 12

I’ve played the drums with varying degrees of passion for about 7 years now. I occasionally get into a style or type of drum and will want to do nothing but jam. Other times I’m just a ridiculously skilled tapping annoyance. Thanks to the first few years of my ...

    Life Is Rhythm...

After a long day at work. A pair of sticks and a 5 piece kit is all I need. Some people need massages or a good book, no sir not me. Getting lost in the "pocket" with eyes closed. It's my drug. I need it.

    Just Give Me A Chance

I've been drumming for about 5 years now. Although I practice literally all the time, I apparently suck according to others. Its my true passion though. I just don't know what's wrong with me.

There's no other thing like it.

To be behind my Tama rockstar kit, and playing it in front of people, that's one of the best feelings in the world. I started off playing Metallica, then Rush, then Tool and so on. It seems like every time you play along with a new song, you learn something new. A new fill...

Do Any of You Have Vintage Electronic Drums?

I have a pearl X  kit, and a Simmons kit. I always liked the way they looked. I just upgraded my sound module to an Alesis D-4. Of course I have an acoustic kit too because I play Rock and nothing compares to acoustic for hard Rock.

    End Of The Road

I was 15 when I decided I wanted to be a drummer. That was 1965. Songs like "Wipe Out" and "Caravan" were hot to me, and so was a drummer named Sandy Nelson. Google him if you never heard of him. His syncopations and accent work kept me practicing for hours. Each lick, till I...

I've always liked drumming. Ever since I started listening to music, I thought drummin was cooler than anything else. I mean, u play like 10 different instruments. And drums are super essential to a rock band. I mean, u can't have one w/o the drummer. And if you did, u would...
