I Am a Free Thinker

Personal Stories, Advice, and Support 2,042 People

I am always trying to get at he cause of things.

Always considering in my mind the motivation and the details of any topic... So I ask questions. I once went to a retreat with the head honchos of a church for three days... The deacon asked me..."so do you feel like you learned anything" and I was like..."no...this is all the...

    My Thoughts On My Thoughts...

What is "thinking", exactly? Basically, it is a neuro-chemical process, okay?Okay... Doesn't help much, now does it.In fact, "thinking" -besides a more technical explanation- is basicall a constant comparing of intake.Things you see, smell, taste, feel and hear, the information...

realize as such. That thing is that my mind is always on. It is always spinning some idea or thought wether I am awake or asleep. If spirit is mind then I need to listen closer!

Free Thinking... What an incredible concept.

In theory, should we not all be free thinkers? Are we not all relatively in control of the way we think? Unfortunately, no. Free thinking is an active process, rather than a passive one, meaning that in order to be free thinkers, we must all pursue the privilege to create our...

    I Wonder About This

Seems like something quite a few people claim to be. If you don't think freely, you wouldn't know it, would you? Or why would you admit that you aren't a free thinker? I can't imagine anyone who would admit it. Ask people to define what a freethinker is and all their definitions...

Ever been raised to believe a certain way? Or ever been told you can't dress this way, think like that, blah blah? Guess that makes a billion of us. Lets just say I learned to think for myself when I admited that I'm not like everyone else, nor should I strive to be. My mother...

I read that people can be iconoclast thinkers

when they don't let their fears stop them and unlock ways to think differently from the usual boxes people limit themselves in. I want to be like this. Right now I have many worries but I am doing what I can to surpass them. Need to keep the ball rolling. I want change.

To Think Freely Is to Live Freely

It is paramount to be a free thinker in order to truely live freely. Many people I have met may live in a free country but they do not realise they are not free as they do not think for themselves. They are enslaved by linking their thoughts to those of others.
