    I know I shouldn't be,

but I am so irritated. My son always wakes up before 7 which is fine whatever, but when you are the one who has to get up with him 7 days a week when his dad is in bed sleeping... That's another story. Granted he works 5 days of it, but I have to stay up, then when he naps in...

Yesterday my younger son was grumpy

and tired, and he said he was sad, because of a memory that was too sad to talk about. Of course, as a mother I worried about that but I did not push him yesterday. Instead today I questioned him, I said, yesterday you told me you had a memory too sad to talk about, and as your...

For years I have thought of my first Mother's

Day. Of being able to claim that title. For years on Mother's Day I have mourned the child that died in my womb. For years I contained death, having once been a tomb. I have wondered what it is to be a mother. Now I know it is life and love. It is living with your heart...

Being a mother means having to say no.

A lot. No, you can't have another cookie. No, you can't turn left when the light is red. No, you have to wait since you passed the 2 entrances. No, you do not drive between gas pumps like you're downhill slalom. No, you can't go straight when you're in the left turn only lane...

    The Perfect Mother??

Teach children by example not advice.

Give them the tools to have long lasting nurturing relationships. The best gift you could ever give them is your time, not your words.

Not too good of one today.

I have felt funky since I woke up so the TV has been entertaining my child a good bit of the day. Well that and his toys. According to the pediatrician no tv until after 2 years old, but my child is beyond advanced and this doesn't happen often.

even your child, mine, or hers didn't make it to live with us; I do think that we still deserve the title. There is something, no one talks and knows about, and that is the feeling that finds a girl, settles in her heart and transforms her to a beautiful mom. It is a silent...
