    War And Warriors

I believe it is possible to be anti-war without being anti-military. I think I am anti-war because of my deep admiration for those who voluntarily serve in the armed forces of their nations (whatever their nations). Many, many years ago I proudly served in the U.S. Navy; and...

I am a pacifist. PACIFIST THROUGH YOUR FACE!

Just kidding. I really am a Pacifist. Maybe the grouchiest and angriest pacifist, but still an pacifist nonetheless.

but my church does not believe in bearing arms in times of war. our men have though done their part in noncombat positions such as medics during wartimes.

    Even when someone hurts me,

I can't imagine inflicting any sort of pain upon them. Although that temporary feeling of adrenaline and power would lighten me up, the idea of making someone feel horrible about themselves just hits me with guilt. I can't do it.

    Numerous Reasons To Be Pacifist

If you are offended by Christianity, then you will not wish to read this post. I will not preach but I am a Christian and my reasons for becoming a pacifist are scriptural in part. I would like to share the specific verses. Luke 3:14 "And the soldiers likewise demanded of him...

    A "militant" Pacifist.

"I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war." -Albert Einstein "Preventive war was an invention of Hitler. Frankly, I would not even listen to anyone seriously that...

    Give Peace a Chance

To paraphrase something Lennon once said, if everybody wants a TV, they'll get a TV.  If everybody wants peace, they'll get peace.

    Is This For Me?

My whole life I have been told to not fight people. I have been taught to follow the saying 'turn the other cheek', but I have never really done it. I know though looking at my past that all those times I got physical that I ended up hurting somebody or getting in trouble. On...

    An Old Peacenik

I was born during WWII, and my father was a soldier. I lived in Korea in 1947 when the forgotten war was about to start. In 1950 I was 8 years old and lived near Ft. Bliss, Texas. We went to the movie theater on the base and saw newsreels. I was so upset when they showed...

    The Sad Truth

The world is full of hatred, pain, sorrow, and so on, but why continue it? I don't believe that violence is the answer to anything. Life is too short for worrying about these small "earthly" problems. Most of us will be in heaven soon enough with eternal happiness. May...

    My ancestors faced persecution

for their pacifism. The Mennonites who I descend from was ran out of Germany, Austria and Switzerland for their beliefs in pacifism. In the wars that U.S. government drafted men for: Civil war, ww1 and 2, and Korea. They tried to force Mennonite men to serve in the armed...

No one can know how one will act

when faced with violence, but I define pacifism as a refusal to prepare to do violence. For this reason I did not join the military nor do I take self defense classes or carry a gun. I am no coward: in 1992, I went to former Yugoslavia in the middle of a war.

    Conflicted Convictions

I can firmly say, without a single doubt, that I am an avid supporter of pacifism - I despise the Armed Forces with a fashion, and have long dreamt of the abolition of war. However, much to my surprise, I've recently been toying with the idea of joining something like the French...

    Long Time Pacifist

I have been a pacifist since the age of 20. It has been almost 46 years now. Been through a lot of crap. Did alternative service and 4 years Navy Corpsman (unarmed). I have been a healer since then. I made mistakes along the way, but I have not taken a human life.

    It Makes Me Sad

Whenever I think of mothers losing their sons and daughters, it makes me so sad.  I don't want any parent to experience that needlessly or for reasons that may never affect them in any other way.  And just the thought of another person dieing over differences in beliefs...

War - What Is It Good For?

I have no idea how we are to go about bringing peace between so many countries with so many differences. I don't doubt it would take a long long time, possibly several martyrs. But the more I see and the more i learn about wars both past and present, the more I believe that...
