    Society'S 'Does' And 'Don'Ts'...

Someone once told me: "Be strange... the normal people will leave you alone then..." It took me a while to figure out what that simple sentence meant, and after pondering for many moments came my conclusion... We are all 'strange'... Not necessarily always in a negative way...

    Vacationing Philosopher

I'm not sure if I belong in this group.  My major is Philosophy, but I'm not sure why anymore.  Many people who are also majoring in this field are reading philosophy books in their spare time and are always quoting their favorite philosopher.  I, on the other hand...

Do not believe in anything simply

because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not...

Sometimes when I think too much about

existence-I feel very lost and almost unconscious. What am I doing? Where am I? What is this? What's the purpose? These thoughts and feelings of nothingness are all that is visible and apparent. I need to pull myself back and become grounded. Maybe it's a sign from God to not...

    I Like to Think Hypothetica...

I like to think hypotheticals and look at both sides. I then like to talk with certain friends and be the serial contrarian taking the opposite of whatever they support so I can view subjects from all sides, and it is fun to taunt them sometimes.

Who forgets about articles :) I love Aristotle.

His interpretation of happiness , people , and activities makes total sense. Whoever is on "Who am I?" stage of his life I recommend reading Nicomachean Ethics. (Nicomach was Aristotle's son; series of lectures to his son). What am I worth? is another question that roots to my...

I guess you could call me a nihilist.

I have seen a lot of sorrow in my short life and it hasn't rubbed off positively on me. I know that no one is completely happy and few people could even say they are happy. I know this just from looking at people. I watch people a lot. I remember a few people from my teen years...

    Accident and Irony

I was hit by a fully loaded semi-trailer yesterday afternoon, but it was only a single piece paper I slipped on that morning that caused me any injury.  I was visiting my family in the mountains and was waiting in mum's car with my five-year old niece and mum's puppy. Mum was...
