This always seems like a gruesome thing to talk

about. As it involves slicing people up almost immediately after they have died. I became an Organ Donor as I got my Driver's License. I always felt that after I died, my body could help other people to live, it seemed like a good thing to do. However, I can understand other...

    Just Feels Right

people die everyday because they cant get the organs they so desperately need and for the life of me i cant figure out why people die with perfectly useful organs but dont donate them for their own selfish reasons. nobody should have to die slowly and painfully when its possible...

The organisation of the body is a wonderful

thing, and if I have no use for it, I am more than happy to make parts of it available so someone else can love.

All I Have To Say Is...

I'm an organ donor. I'll be damned If I'm going to be burried in a box (not that I want to be burried at all) and let my perfectly good organs just rot away when someone else could be using them. I won't need them anymore. Why not put them to good use?

    And You Should Be Too!!

Everyone should be an organ donor.  You don't have to be a live donor, you can wait until you are dead... cause when you die, you don't need them, don't be an as$hole, save a life. Donate.

I don't weigh enough to donate blood

while alive, so this is the next best thing. It's really important to me, to know that if I died tomorrow in a car accident without the chance to make my life as worthwhile as it might have been, that my pink sticker gives someone else the chance instead.

    Sad But True

When I was 12, two girls in my school died. (So did one's little brother.) Anyway, A. & B both were organ donors, and I heard that together, they saved 6 or 7 lives, and improved so many others. I'd like to be that person, so that even after I die, I'm still giving back to the...

My Mom Received A Donated Liver....

At the age of 44, my mother received a donated liver from a high school senior from Houston, Texas who had received a blow to his head during a football game.  He was pronounced brain dead.  In his family's time of extreme tragedy and grief, they chose to bless other...

My sister inspired me to be an organ donor.

She died at age 12 in a car accident. Mom and Dad chose to donate her lungs, kidneys, heart, eyes even. Recently, and for the first time in 20 years of only knowing the recipient's name, Mom and Dad and I finally met the deserving woman who received Carrie's lungs; it was so...

I am registered to donate all of my organs

and tissue in the event of my death. I don't understand why everyone is not, when you are dead your body rots and all your parts go to waste...meanwhile there is some poor person out there desperate for a kidney or a heart or whatever. Individual beliefs or taboos are not more...

Children And Newborns Are Dying From Heart Failure.

I'm an organ donor. I have registered to be an organ donor years ago after seeing lots of children and newborn dying and suffering in the heart specialist hospital because their hearts are failing and no heart from donors that suit a small child like that. It's heartbreaking to...

    Have been a blood donor

for years, and have carried a card. If the worst should happen, at least I might be of some use to someone else.

I'm a big believer in this.

I have a family member whose life was saved by an organ donation. But, am I the only one that gets a kick out of the term "organ donor"? I got a donation a'ight. Heh, heh, heh.

    Registered For Organs And Marrow

I have been a registered organ donor for about 24 years now. Once I'm gone, I won't need 'em. In addition, I registered to be a bone marrow donor about five years ago. I would be happy to help another person if I can.

    I'm Registered

I'm a registered organ donor.  My cousin was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease in 2005.  She did the whole dialysis thing and was on the list for a kidney.   Fortunately her god mother was a match and was able to give her a kidney.  It...

    For Thirty Years

    I've been a registered donor since I was in my 20's, I'm 53 now. Is there an age limit for the organs? I think mine are still in pretty good shape. They may have to wring out my liver a couple of times, it gets a lot of use. (-;

Earlier this week I finally registered myself

as a donor. I'm actually really proud I did. In the first place because I know there's a shortage in our country when it comes to donors. And of course when I or somebody I love needs a donor I hope there will be someone who during his/her life signed up for it. In the second...
